The audio Safari roster has a new member - Phable! This young gentleman was singing in the choir at the age of seven and should have become a professional tenor, but he dropped out to completely loose himself in soul and blues. After first meeting the music of Daft Punk he fell in love with something totally new to him - House. Now he debuts on Audio Safari.

Easy going and relaxed while pushing straight forward. That probably describes the chilling original version of „Off The Grid“ best. A remix comes from Plunk.ton, which reduces the track to its most important elements, such as beats, bass and chords and equals a nice minimal interpretation. Chillhouse with a beautiful melody and extended to over seven minutes, Tom Gibb's Incogneto Mix is just right for all fans of music in the cold months. Another remix comes from BackForth, which shines in a whole new and above all very groovy Deephouse light.

Funk always played a big part in the life of Phable and so also his first EP coming out on Audio Safari makes no exception at that point. Fresh sounds that are always tinged with soul, control his music from beginning to end. One may expect some more in the future...

Phable - Off The Grid (Original Mix)

Phable was born in Mölln in 1989, growing up during Germany’s Reunification—a time of profound change and discovery. He began his classical musical education at the age of eight, laying the foundation for his future in music production. Between the ages of 11 and 18, he sang in various choirs, including the Lübeck Boys’ Choir, and even took private opera singing lessons at the Lübeck Theatre, preparing for a career as a tenor. However, he soon realized his passion lay outside classical music.

Shifting his focus to soul, rock, and funk, Phable played in several bands, honing his skills as a live musician. His journey into electronic music began in the early 2000s when Daft Punk’s Discovery captivated him—a record that remains a cornerstone of his artistic inspiration. Alongside Daft Punk, artists such as The Beatles, Marvin Gaye, Damon Albarn, The Smiths, The Roots, DJ Koze, Bonobo, Jazzanova, Mos Def, James Brown, Terry Lee Brown Jr., and Zombie Nation also shaped his musical evolution.

Under the pseudonym Phable, he immersed himself in Northern Germany’s nightlife from 2012 onward. Within a year, he gained recognition in the local scene, earning residencies in various clubs. Driven by the desire to create tracks tailored to his sets, he began producing his own music. This quickly led to releases on labels like Armada, Ostfunk, Light My Fire, Wonne Musik, Pure*, and Audio Safari.

Phable’s sound is distinct, blending melodic sensuality with groovy, pumping beats—a reflection of his diverse influences and classical background, seamlessly merged with his love for modern house music.
