La musique de JUMO se caractérise par une dualité propre. Comme un paysage du Nord où la chaleur colorée d’une aurore boréale ferait l’amour avec le froid polaire des neiges éternelles, JUMO marrie la danse et le spleen dans un tourbillon de notes ravageur. Au hasard d’un titre on découvre une basse groovante sur un beat chaloupé et des notes de synthés aux mélodies lo-fi et mélancolique. Flume rôde, Siriusmo guette, Hudson Mohawke acquiesce. La musique de JUMO s’inscrit dans cette mouvance électronique à la fois tendance et contemporaine. Elle mélange les genres, brouille les pistes et magnifie l’audace grâce à une production léchée. 
Solitaire schizophrène traversant les rues sombres d’un Gotham City à la recherche du sens de la vie, JUMO se projette dans le réel et dans ses rêves et nous y ouvre ses multiples portes.

Throughout the EP, JUMO becomes a storyteller where each track acts as a chapter: the main character is hunted by a tortured personification of his unconscious, which results in an audio-visual experience, reflective of the intricate conflict of the two. Composed of 5 chapters, JUMO journeys through a fable exploring the duality of birth, temporality and consciousness. By depicting antagonistic voices for these themes, the producer transcends the apparent paradoxes to create a nuanced and imaginative world, where “Hylé” finds its purpose. The process for the EP’s music composition and narration began in October 2013 and lasted a year. Recorded in Paris, “Hylé” is the result of an introspective work using different medium such as music, videos and graphic designs. Consequently, the EP had the time to mature in JUMO’s mind and continues to do so with the interpretation of others.

Reflections is a somewhat irregularly occurring dj series.

Woodstove has a special feeling to it.  There's something about the community, the openness, and the passion that elevates it to a special place in my heart.  I look forward to this festival every year.

The Woodstove Music & Arts Festival is a non-profit community arts festival presented by Cumberland Culture & Arts Society. It takes place in a variety of unique venues downtown in the Village of Cumberland, BC on the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation.
