A nomad of modern times, who has travelled the continents with his music, Nu is as diverse in his musical styles as he is well-travelled. Taking influences from his various homes, the producer and trained sound engineer branched out into various genres. I like to imagine sometimes where the music will travel to. Who it will be given to or shared with. Whether it will be played at an after party in London or listened to on a set of headphones while watching the sun rise from behind a mountain in Tibet. I wonder which tracks you'll fall in love with instantly and which will grow on you as time passes. 

I know this is a really long mix and the journey into it and out the other side takes some commitment but, on the plus side, it saves you having to look for anything else to play for ages and ages.

 I hope you love the tracks as much as I do and thanks for listening.

Hard to believe, but it's been a year and half since I released my last studio concept mix. I'm excited to break the streak and share this with you today.

I've always considered these self-released studio mixes the backbone of my identity. They were the primary medium of artistic communication - from me to you - for many years. Of course, some live recordings and guest mixes were released along the way, but they're not quite the same as a self-released studio mix... mostly because these aren't bound by any aesthetic constraints (like the sound of a label, podcast, or responsiveness of a dance floor in the moment). 

These mixes are my most authentic voice.

After taking a long break from the one thing that's been so fundamental to defining who I am, I thought deeply about what I wanted to say, which was a delightful challenge.

How can I remain continuous from where I left off in August, 2017? 

At the same time, how can I avoid falling into the trap of doing what I've always done? After all, music has changed... you've changed... my taste has changed, but I'm still me. Or am I now someone else?

Afrika Burn 2019 Madmotormiquel Dirty Disco Desert

A three-hour mix from 10 years ago which I haven't until now shared (having only recently discovered a copy, when it was being played at a friends BBQ!). It was recorded at a villa party in Ibiza, timed for the opening parties weekend, and the party itself was celebrating 10 years of similarly favoured soirees. To this day it remains one of the best parties I've played at (playing alongside Lowlifes Michael Cook). With it being a 10 yr anniversary, it's a particularly celebratory set. :)

On Sunday April 12th as a special gift for Sandy Hill’s surprise birthday, a group of her favorite DJ friends created epic mini sets to be played on the night of the zoom easter bunny extravaganza. 
You could feel the love and magic in the air that night with smiles radiating from all of those who were present to celebrate this special moment in time.
