Srila Prabhupada said that the decision to become fully Krishna conscious is a declaration of war against Maya. The soul who makes such a decision to surrender to Krishna may still sometimes experience suffering in this material world, and may still sometimes become influenced by Maya to give up the fight to become fully Krsna conscious. Like Arjuna, he sometimes may feel like dropping his bow and giving up the fight. In this song, the soul prays and cries out to Lord Krishna by calling out His various names, begging for strength to carry on the fight. In this song, the holy names of Sita and Rama are chanted. Just as in the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, Sita and Rama are also names of God (Rama) and His feminine energy (Sita). The names of God can be chanted in Kali-yuga or in any age, for the purification of the heart.
