Heard this one a few days ago during a Sven Vath set at Awakenings. I was there with my friends, first time using the famous X, took out my earplugs and KAPOW. instant-favorite track. so happy my gf found this track, and listening to it again brings me right back to that moment. I'm actually getting emotional.

After years of thumpers and bumpers on labels such as Twirl, Love Child and Instant Replay, the erstwhile Go-Go dancer and Amsterdam club legend Lupe sashays in from the left and slam dunks us with unholy acid house thunderstorms. 'Only Sinners Survive'

His Pets debut is pounding late night tackle that sounds future-proof today but would have fit perfectly at any stage since the acid revolution. The title track is inspired, as is the whole EP, by magical TV drama consumed during lockdown; takes us straight across the leftfield with an electroclash style fusion of juggernaut acid and stark lyricism that reminds us that perfection is a delusion.

Deeper into the night we strut to strike deep mix gold on 'Den Of Iniquity' as a Lupe makes the drums sing in a slamming, Q&A style hook that will fit over any other track and wind the dancers up with its addictive and mischievous mutations. Finally we have 'Binge Dancer'. The biggest slammer of the EP, once again we're sent into a spin with broadsheet acid and the type of rattling, insistent percussion that ensures plenty of bingeing.

Handle with caution. Lupe might drive you loopy.

Radio Slave drops new single ‘You Don’t Know’ this December on Rekids as part of ‘The House of Rekids’ Comp.

On his latest single, ‘You Don’t Know’, Radio Slave enters House mode, employing hooky vocal snippets, chunky drum hits, and filtered synths to hypnotic effect across the deep 9-minute track. Accompanying the single is the streaming-only compilation ‘The House Of Rekids 2022’, which comprises 13 House tracks released on the label this year from the likes of Mark Broom, Ian Pooley, Alinka, and many more.

Radio Slave, aka Matt Edwards, is responsible for some of the biggest underground dance tracks of the past 20 years, including ‘Grindhouse’, ‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’, ‘Another Club’, and many other timeless cuts. The Soulful Techno king Gabriel Ananda makes his Truesoul debut with a re-master of his 2006 classic ‘Doppelwhipper’. The package also comes with two brand new remixes from Drumcode favourite Marco Faraone and the hotly tipped Layton Giordani. 

The EP opens with Marco Faraone’s remix, which samples Kings of Tomorrow’s ‘KOT Anthem (Soul Vision Remix)’. This takes ‘Doppelwhipper’ to dizzy new heights, keeping the obscure roots of the track and adding a rolling bass line that will bring any dancefloor to sheer hysteria. Next up is a re-master of Ananda’s seminal ‘Doppelwhipper’, a track which has well and truly stood the test of time. A connoisseur of the uncommon, his curious sounds float through almost 10 minutes of pure hedonism. Closing out the package is Layton Giordani’s interpretation of the track that is set to be a firm club favourite. Pounding through the gears, this one will do some real damage.
