For those who’ve been following my Burnout Sumner adventures for a while now, this might sound familiar. Every three years, I drop a pretty extended mix dedicated to that special kind of Balearic house music bliss that continues to be a major part of my life, despite all the personal changes that have happened since the last edition. So here we are with Volume III: “An Escape to Balearic Paradise.”

Expect an almost three-hour-long journey into a tropical dreamscape, carefully curated by yours truly. It’s a sun-drenched selection of my favorite tracks from this magical musical realm, collected since the 2022 edition. You'll find familiar faces like DJ Koze, Space Ghost, and Joe Goddard, alongside hidden gems from Desert Island Disco, Lars Bartkuhn, Barbara Boeing, and Conga Fever: the forgotten alias of Tom Hessler aka Der Assistent. One personal highlight: Sofia Kourtesis’ dreamy remix of Perel’s Matrix, a track I still get goosebumps from. Also included is an Alex Kassian rework-slash-tribute to Michael Göttsching’s iconic E2-E4 from 1981, which still feels like the spiritual blueprint for this entire genre.

But let’s not get lost in name-dropping - because in the end, this mix is all about the vibe. It’s an invitation to slow down, to breathe deeply, to let your mind wander over imaginary coastlines. Maybe you’ll find yourself dancing barefoot in golden sunlight, or drifting into twilight with a soft breeze brushing your skin. This is a soundtrack for summer days and balmy nights, a celebration of warmth, serenity, and musical escapism - and honestly, don’t we all need a little more of that right now? Palace Pasador is at the forefront of Switzerland’s underground Dub Pop movement. While their voices have been a signature feature of Fuga Ronto productions, they now step into the spotlight with a release of their own. It has been less than a year since the dreamy 'Words of Love' single, yet @mysticjungle is back with a new album of free-spirited forays into solar-sonic fantasy. Despite the short time between releases, however, Dario di Pace’s third LP, 'Sunset Breaker', has been in gestation for a long while and reflects an arduous journey through studio closures and multiple recording locations. It also shows the stylistic variety that results when a set of songs develops over several years. Despite this difficult journey, Mystic Jungle has produced a rich and multi-colored display of sounds and styles, resulting in his most diverse and adventurous musical narrative thus far. Standout dance tracks like “Secrets” and “Some Lovin'” feature disco beats and body-moving grooves, with searing guitars, sultry saxophones, and layers of loved-up lyrics and call-and-response vocals that add to the magical motion. Meanwhile, “Innervision” and “Twilight” draw inspiration from lovers rock and neon new-wave dub pop, where yearning vocals, ecstatic pixie hooks, and liquid fuzz leads intertwine with fantasy synths and exotic string instruments from faraway lands. On sunbaked, stoner tracks like “The Road” and “Get Me Higher,” Mystic Jungle blends harmonizing passages of 60s psychedelia, radiant summer soul, and low-down zoner jamming. Hello, my beloved listeners,

I would like to share a small story with you. It's already been one year since we started traveling to Armenia. Almost every second month, we’ve been there, performing shows in Yerevan. Each time, we received so much love and appreciation from the locals. We’ve also made many wonderful friends, people I’m truly happy to know and hope to keep in my life forever.

I've always wanted to bring something Armenian into my music. What I create is deeply influenced by the shared cultural elements between Georgia and Armenia. This summer, I finally had a moment to make that dream come true.

After many trips to Yerevan, I reached a point where I felt ready to create a track that includes a sample from the legendary Armenian musicologist Komitas. At first, I was a bit hesitant to use it, mainly out of respect and due to the spiritual and religious significance of his work. But the result felt so right that I decided to take the risk. I also received encouragement and a kind of “permission” from some local friends, which gave me even more confidence to move forward.

So now, I’m happy and proud to share this new track with you. It’s not just music—it's a bridge between cultures and a personal milestone in my journey.
