Yayo is a dark alleyway filled with the unexpected. A low-lying bassline that slowly crawls along the unlit floor counterbalances the synth pattern which feels on edge and on watch, anticipating the unforeseen. Sharp contrasts between elements are a defining feature to this piece. Occasionally gunshot samples burst onto the scene, only to be followed shortly by the laughter of children. The stylish tackiness, mixed with the contemporary swag gives this track a Tarantino vibe, integrating spaghetti western tropes with violent change ups in flow and narrative. The song feels like a drunken joy ride from start to end filled with curious samples, clever flows, and above all, style.

Phantom Phunk is a musical group based out of Tampa, Florida. Their music incorporates indie and urban elements, making extensive use of experimental instrumentation while maintaining pop-format song structure. The group often features guest artists to diversify the vocal performances within their tracks, creating variation between their songs. Phantom Phunk’s repertoire features a range of genres and artistry that is largely driven by their influences which include Tyler the Creator, the Gorillaz, Pharcyde, Brockhampton, Death Grips and Run the Jewels. Although the group has toured the American east coast extensively in the past, since 2020 the project has been devoted to their proficiency in production, releasing singles and music videos, while delivering online live performances via live-stream. The group is comprised of five members: Parry Ace on lead vocals, Cloudmaster Price as MC, C.I.D as MC, Nick Emiliozzi on drums and Hector Fontanet on guitar and synth.
