Altinbas & Cirkle - Cynical Moves EP (SNIPPETS)

Arkan has previously showcased his productions on the SK_X series while newcomer Oktobr has been making waves on KSR and the label he collaboratively runs with Arkan “Autonome Records”

The pair share the 12” with a split EP. 

Arkan opens it up with a more playful approach for the “Interface” track, an ode to the great K41 club in Kyiv features on the A2 “Kyrylivska 41”. Both tracks here have a very menacing energy that look to take the dance floor into the darkness and really set the mood. 
The tunnelling and sharp “Surrender” track, a more raw sci-fi approach from Oktobr starts the B-Side of the record. Valkyrie with its loopy, driving and hypnotic aesthetic close the EP.

It’s always good to have Nørbak onboard again with this brand new slice of plastic. Four cuts of precise and gymnastic techno aimed for the most advanced dancefloors energetic and intelligent at the same time, as we like. A side starts with Tell me I’m wrong a fast paced hypnotic exercise with adrenalinic synth lines running over complex rhythms, properly arranged in a constantly changing structure. Amongst them follow, textured flanged sounds running across the stereo field, shuffled beats and lots of space, the definition of how profound techno should be. Flipping the vinyl, B1 is Pure and Faithful, funk infused sequences constantly altered in shape, complex grooves and as always a profound structure full of twists. Last cut in this exercise is Unbearable Lightness, continuous and repetitive randomized synth lines spiced with lots of reverb over a well crafted drum workout, intense and spacious at the same time. Another demonstration of studio skills and sound design from this young Portuguese producer.

OECUS Premiere | Nørbak - Amongst Them [POLEGROUP065]

After a little summer break, data roaming records is back with another compilation on cassette, their biggest to date, with an international crew of talents. First up, is Itzaac. a new project from Berlin based Luca Castiglia with a straight to the point, groovy and distorted track with a defined 90’s influence. Next up, Tel Aviv’s OCHERii takes a more cosmic yet driving approach, full of swirling textures. Muzmin, hailing all the way from the US west coast provides a restrained and thick track, heavy once again on the textures. Label boss Kerst once again rolls through with his refined brand of big room ready techno, sure to rattle walls, yet this one is also one of his most textured and atmosphere-heavy. Bruxelles based Carmelo Ponente has us plunge underwater on a minimal, captivating modular trip. Paris’ dc11 and co-label boss rounds things off with one of his most minimal tracks ever, a few simple elements working together towards a groove.

This release is not only a way to get some cash in to make up for the lost computers (I'm not gonna lie), but also some final closure after weeks of pretty intense feelings, call it a big middle finger...

About 6 weeks ago burglars found their way into my flat and stole 3 MacBooks.
Besides an overwhelming rollercoaster of emotions, realizing strangers invaded my personal space and robbed me for a few 1000 euros, it hit me that I almost never made any back ups from music projects.
Until I realized I sometimes upload drafts of tracks on SoundCloud as I still had some tracks left who didn't make the cut for my previous releases. Leftovers, indeed.

This release contains three quite different tracks, made during the last two years. A jumpy one, a groovy tool and a slow burner would be my very poetic way to describe them. 

Thanks again for all your supportive messages, to all the people who checked in how I was doing and to all the people who are buying these tracks of course.

A big shout to Altinbas who saved these tracks by mixing and mastering them, just based on a badly mixed, overcompressed file on Soundcloud.
