All the words we forgot

With the first Phase Group Mix we introduce you to Andria - a young producer from Serbia who you may know through his output on the excellent YES label. Andria also works as our graphic designer and he's provided us with a mix of slow industrial breaks, dark IDM and otherworldly sound design that is representative of the sound he creates himself. The mix also includes some upcoming Phase Group material which we’re looking forward to sharing with you very soon. Enjoy.

Katza is a DJ from Bilbao and was part of the Paraleloan crew that threw parties both in Bilbao and at San Sebastian club, Dabadaba. His mixes draw on obscure sounds, varied and emotive, moving through genres and tempos with free spirit but maintaining immediacy and atmosphere. It's a joy to spend some time going through his soundcloud and we're really happy to have a mix from him for our second Phase Group Mix in the series.  Thanks Katza!

ML is a friend from Berlin, extremely knowledgeable about all kinds of music. Many hours can be spent and lots learnt listening to his amazing 150 sessions radio show on NTS that doesn't stick to one style or code but instead gives you the best and weirdest of everything. Thanks ML!

Mykonos lives in Paris where she is part of the Bruits De La Passion crew, a diverse and devoted gang of friends and diggers that organise hybrid parties around the city as well as the Zone Disco Autonome Festival in the summer. 

Her music selection for her Phase Group mix is dub-wise, playful and eclectic, favouring the down-tempo, cosmic and cerebral sides of breakbeat, IDM and trip-hop. Thanks Anna!

Phase Group Mix - Mykonos

Misonica sent us an hour of far out and trippy club music, ranging from dark tribal sounds to slow trance excursions. 

In her hometown of Vienna, Misonica is an extremely active member of the local scene. She was part of the team behind the Femdex, mix series, workshop and event platform that worked to highlight female identifying DJs and producers. They recently put the project (for the time being) on hold but she can still be found pushing the Vienna scene through the NNNN party series that she runs alongside Bocksrucker, Paul Uhlmann and Samo Zeichen.

Karagi ಏ A Strange Wedding

This week we happily welcome Wosto to the Rubber Tijd series. You might know him as the other half of FALLBEIL (We had Kluentah on the show a few months back!?) and for his releases on labels like teerpappe and macadam mambo and many more. Wosto went fast and peppy with this vinyl only 140 bpm synthpop mix. 

In his own words: 
"Wosto was born in 1980 in Geseke (a small town near in „Wostfalia“) and he got no wife, no childen and no car. In the beginning of the 90ths he was a famous ice skater under the moniker RED FLAME. After an accident in 1995 and an identity crisis he started to collect records and began to work as a DJ for a fairground ride. Wosto and his gang G TOWN BEATS were discovered by the club owner Travolta Michele and they started to do DJ sets in the club KLIMBIM in Geseke. 19,994 of the 20,000 inhabitants of Geseke weren`t interested in the music of the gang and so in 2004 the boys escaped to Hamburg. In 2013 Wosto and his best friend Kluentah founded FALLBEIL. So far they released 10 vinyl records on different labels all over the world. In 2017 Wosto and the two members of NOSTAGIE ÉTERNELLE started the trio SAUERSTOFFF. Wosto is also releasing solo records and is running his own vinyl label - TEERPAPPE."

He and Charles are the bastard sons of Les Fils de Jacob. He does slowed down edits and uploads on his Useless Seconds youtube channel. Always looking for trance in everything (music, films, images etc) and early mornings that last forever… at times playing the hunting horn. 

His mix is like falling down the rabbit hole, where a timeless reality is as much made of absence as of presence. No story, no message, no questions, no answers…

@claudia_fv lives in Prague where she is a DJ and key member of the Czech scene with a taste for unorthodox sounds. She is also the mind behind the expertly curated @deviant-planet podcast series and parties that take place at Ankali  and recently launched a new sister space to Ankali for dancing to more experimental sounds, Planeta Za.

Her mix for Phase Group takes us from dark ambient and spoken word recordings through tribal percussion rides before breaking into dark slow electro and techno work outs. Thanks Claudia!

He’s been masterly blurring the lines between techno, electro, tribal, drone and other styles in his own 'Methodrone' show on LYL radio, and it’s time he gives us a little taste of that in LAYER #247.
