Robert recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music from QUT, and seeks work in the field of voice acting.

Having already worked on a wide range of projects ranging from animations, to commercials, to musical theatre, Robert has voiced high-strung teachers, dress-wearing barbarians, and mythical goblin creatures.

Passing space snail

A documentation of our class performance of Steve Reich's process music work Pendulum Music. The original 1968 instructions were followed with utmost care. The recording has been trimmed to 3 minutes long to keep it radio friendly.

Performed studiously by 3rd year QUT non-traditional music class.
Expertly conducted by Chris Perren.

Performed using 6 microphones, 5 small guitar amplifiers, and one bass amplifier.

"Three or more microphones are suspended above the speakers by means of a cable and stand. The microphones are pulled back, switched on, and released over the speaker, and gravity causes them to swing back and forth as pendulums. As the microphone nears the speaker, a feedback tone is created. Different lengths of cable will swing at different speeds, creating an overlapping series of feedback squeals. The music created is thus the result of the process of the swinging microphones."

Commands are recorded with the appropriate timing, as follows:

1) Are all shooters ready
2) You have 30 minutes to complete this match
3) Place bolts in your rifle
4) Commence Fire
5) Half Time
6) You have two minutes to complete your firing
7) You have one minute to complete your firing
8) You have 30 seconds to complete your firing
9) Five seconds
10) “Sound of whistle” - Cease Fire
11) Remove bolts from rifles
