Caffeine Grooves 004 - GARETH DAVIES

Fast becoming the hottest social gathering in West Yorkshire, Flash Atkins Music's monthly 'Calder Del Sol Sessions' at Barbary’s are bringing a bit of the classic Ibizan vibe to Mytholmroyd in the Upper Calder Valley.

With a soundtrack covering all corners of the record shop provided by Flash & the occasional guests, this after work social shindig is a must for music & craft beer lovers alike.

For the month of June it was Paper's #1 brew maker Chris Massey Music's turn to join a top crowd with top musical vibes on the hottest day of the year so far.
It was so good they even made the sunshine instantly disappear pretty much as soon as it started.

Part 1 of the 4 hour mega fest is avail here...tuck in for a fest of sounds of jazz, balearic, cosmic, outsider pop, sun drenched soul, funk, chuggy disco and of course a few choice Paper cuts.

Calder Del Sol Sessions - Flash Atkins & Massey Part 1

Playing around with bits n pieces ahead of my next sunset session down the Hostel and figured it's too nice not to share. I'm gonna take this trip a bit further and put it in another grouping as I really like where the last track seems to be wanting us to go. Stay tuned if you like this one. Yeah it's been put together with a sunset in mind but it's gonna sound equally nice all day tomorrow too :)

His latest masterpiece “Slouse – fishing in slower territories” has been released today and recieved a lot of love from the press as well as from the a-list DJ circle. This mix is just a perfect example of what “Slouse” is all about, a very tasty blend of mid-tempo house nuggets. So better watch out for the compilation which is available on CD, 2LP and Digital – but before that – sit back and listen to Rainer’s mix – recorded at the legendary Garito Cafe in Palma earlier this year. Since the 1990s, Phat Phil Cooper has been on a journey through DJ culture and electronic music with more twists and turns than your average million-selling novel. Through his work as a DJ, label manager, curator, record shop owner, event organizer and music consultant, Cooper has remained a central figure in a story that has yet to reach a conclusion.

Musically, Cooper has long been celebrated for his diverse approach to music. While naturally at home championing the seductive, sun-kissed sounds released on the NuNorthern Soul label he founded in 2012 – either in humid outdoor venues around the Globe or via his popular weekly radio shows and regular sessions on Mixcloud – Cooper’s roots can be traced back to the dancefloors of legendary Liverpool club Cream, where during the 1990s and early 2000s he was a key resident DJ. 

Three decades on, Cooper’s club-moving skills remain as sharp as ever, despite his reputation as a storied, laidback and open-minded downtempo selector.
