Local Group roll through with a rave and hardcore inspired 4-tracker - Big Beats Are The Best!

‘Rhythmic Trip’ is an emotional, breaksy number; meandering out of dark tones and patterns and into large vocal samples and uplifting odes to classic hardcore. 
Netil Radio resident Angel D’lite comes through in style with a wicked 150bpm lovecore remix of the Local Group original.

‘Watch This Beat’ nods to the right side of happy hardcore - its chipmunk vocals, ravey piano stabs and snappy breakbeats providing plenty of gun-finger induced, rush-in-the-rave moments - before ‘Work That Thing’ closes the door with a scratch-sampled cut of electro that sounds like it was taken from the middle of a Jerome Hill set.

Debuting on Sydney based label Gallery Records in 2020 - inspired by the lack of female faces in a male-dominated scene - AK Sports has been setting the standard for her style of high energy, new-age rave spanning breaks, electro, grime, jungle, techno as she finds her footing in the contemporary electronic circuit between London and LA.

Releases and remixes have followed on Dansu Discs, Mad Decent and CLUB GLOW (where she produced a collaborative EP with rising artist Kessler), and now the Aussie producer readies her Lobster Theremin debut; six varied and stylistic cuts of techno, electro and distinct Sports-rave.

‘Dial Up’ is a pirate radio inspired, scattered break warper that captures an underground, empty warehouse energy. Flashes of bright, coloured lasers enter the fray on ‘You Want Some’ - an uplifting, happy-hardcore influenced cut of breakbeat-techno - before the progressive, bubbling patterns of ‘Listen Now’ deepen the undercurrents.

The B-side opens with ‘Odorimashou!’ - a lo-fi industrial experiment laced with trance and jack-hammer melodies - while ‘Flame On’ switches the vibe again with it’s high-speed, malfunctioning electro aesthetic. 

Bringing Displaced to an end is ‘The Humans Are Dead’ - a dystopian trip through a Fallout-like apocalypse soundtracked by 80s horror styled melodies and futuristic laser blasts.

Next up on Amsterdam / Planet Susan based label and eccentric musical entity, Who's Susan, is Lobster Theremin honcho, Asquith with a four tracker flaunting his usual brand of flammable dance-floor material. A few enigmatic yet ever-fun words from the WS guys below;   

"Brisk and brittle dog hounds pump and shift within the boundaries of reason because sentences are relative to acquired taste, knowledge, inspection and invention. Punctuation punctures our visual mind because we punch the vibes in the musky morning rush between buses and trains and underground vibrations. We run before we jog and we think before we sprint. The season of endless beverages is here and if you look twice into the ocean before you, the Lobsters crawl and enter the Temple to run from the stormy breeze.

Repetition is the door that opens in a revelatory orchestrated encounter with the other side; the side that lingers and brings together a Gang of dogs and enterprises. I have long understood what we are here to do. We are able to communicate with the current situation and the bevs are all but superfluous right now. You know?"
