From dawn until dusk, the Macadam club residents @combe, @mokshaandrogyne, @gtidj and @youldj, develop a hybrid, sensual music. The whole EP stands for the uncompromising line-ups of the Gloria : diurnal parties which take place one Sunday a month from dawn until dusk. To dissipate the mists of this urban zoo, from one track to another, the DJs explore drastically different landscapes, like a sweeping dive into the essence of the party.

The sun shone bright outside the window, forcing its way through the gaps in the curtains. This morning ritual was soundtracked by the flock of birds that parked up outside her window each day, joining in chorus to stir her from her slumber. This was her routine wake up call - no shrill alarm clocks or unwelcome visitors, no loud vehicles or beeping horns - just nature doing what it does best. 

Phenomena Records started life in October last year as a platform to explore the fringes of electronic music, particularly unconventional sounds aimed at the dance floor. Their inaugural release brought together rising stars from their stomping ground of Naarm, as well as across the pond in London, to give listeners a taste of what to expect. One of the artists featured was hello Aussie Izzy Locke, who takes care of release number two and the label's first solo outing with For The Birds. Tracing the sounds and elements of electronic music she loves, the four tracks span transcendent breakbeat and glitchy cuts to acid and synth-driven excursions, completed with a remix from DAWS who steers things down a housier route.

„Don’t try this at home“- a warning that has always been more of an encouragement to do forbidden things than inspire cautiousness. But basically correct, and for want of a booming club life, you better enjoy this Detroit burner with a proper car system or in an abandoned warehouse that is gettin cut into pieces by stroboscope lightning. Of course, under the correct appliance of all hygiene measures. 
No, this ain’t a Trumpesque call to arms in order to charge for the Reichstag. On the contrary, it shows how any stable foundation can be undermined with a healthy dose of 90s acid. If you don’t believe it, just listen to Rakim’s „Stay in bed remix“ of „How to bring down your government“.
For the end of our adventure we are given a nice „Sidequest“. As for the reward, there’s a shiny loot box with legendary items, beautifully wrapped in trancey techno. Lovers of Aril Brikha might find some valuable treasure here.

We're delivered complex, mystic rhythms nodding to the likes of PWOG, Paradise 3001 and Sabres of Paradise, the unique breakbeat-tweaked, tribal-trance epitiomising early 90s output from labels like KK, Go Bang!, Dream and ESP Records.

As with the previous 2 releases in the 3-part Grumptronix series, the A-side features the duo’s most sought after tracks from their back catalogue. This concluding chapter features the futuristic-funk and vocoder-laden ‘Dirty Sheets’, an enigmatic electro classic that has been become almost impossible to find for collectors. This is followed by the travelling and morphing sounds of ‘Lovefix’ – a track that is long regarded as one of the greatest electro tracks of the era. As with the rest of the series, the two reissue tracks are featured alongside 2 previously unheard, unreleased productions that were created during the same time period, at the same studio in Tampa, Florida. The first previously unreleased track is ‘Nightmoves’, a potential future classic. An immediate call to the dancefloor that provides the discerning DJ with something to break through even the most monotonous of sets. The final track of the series is ‘Cosmic Glide’, a bouncy rhythm with purple, funk-fuelled keys that are equal parts future and past. Nightmoves #3 is last in the series, but by absolutely no means least. WORMO2’s transmission is complete, over and out.

The release is in aid of a great cause called habibi.works, a charity and institution designed to help and support refugees on the ground in Greece. The compilation itself is stellar and also features music from the likes of Yr Lovely Dead Moon, Discovery Zone and more.
