We’re proud to welcome Amoss back to Dispatch this October, as they deliver their much anticipated 2nd EP with four brand new tracks, entitled the ‘Shadow Theories EP’.

Displaying the full spectrum of the duo’s sound, the EP also includes their next collaboration with Dutch producer Fre4knc, as well as additional features from Viv May and C.Tivey.

Whether it’s a speaker pulsator for the clubs or a subtly tech-tinged groove, Amoss have an inherent ability to master any vibe they turn to, seemingly effortlessly; delivering music that is aesthetically pleasing to fellow producers, without losing its wider dancefloor appeal.

Old skool breaks, unpredictable percussive switches and an unmistakably infectious hook make up lead track ‘The Wayman Break’, followed by the neck churning ‘Vortice’ with Fre4knc, held by a ruthlessly tight drum pattern, a track displaying pure precision and attention to detail.

Moving smoothly into ‘Stalling Theme’, the EP takes a more harmonic, tranquil direction, accompanied by a blissful blend of Viv May’s vocals and C.Tivey on the keys, before things take a darker turn on the technical stomper ‘Crooked Arm’, as Amoss close off proceedings.

Our fantastical Finnish duo that is of course Askel & Elere, or Juho Kavasto and Sainey Gibba, return with a flourish in the form of the 4-track ‘Glass’ EP. While the pair have been busy both individually and collectively, netting releases on Hospital, Fokuz and Delta9, we warmly welcome them back to Soulvent. Reprising 2019’s ‘Yeah Alright’ EP - the pair continue to evolve their slick and sophisticated sound, with this EP another clear indicator of the undoubtedly bright future ahead of them.

The title track ‘Glass’ is calm and inviting; the soft pads welcome low-passed drums and a firm hi-hat. The detuned climax is a luscious roller, providing a window into what is to come. 

‘Envelop’ splashes open with screeching synths and digital noise. This thunderingly quiet build belches forth nothing short of a bowel-churning burst of driving low end and smooth vocal cuts, perfect for decimating any dance floor in your local vicinity. 

The ever so interestingly dubbed ‘Groke’ chirrups to life with it’s gnarled topline sounding like a warped pizzicato string section. Warming rhodes, brisk breaks and a fluid sub bass frame this experimental number with both style and grace. 

Rounding things off, ‘Twice’ is so nice they named it once, but you will need at least two listens to appreciate the mastery at work. Syncopated synths and misshapen, reversed vocals meet rumbling bass and collide amongst breaks caked in white noise.

Smashing into all good stores on the 4th of September, don’t miss this shatteringly smooth release from the hotly tipped pair that is Askel & Elere.

After hearing 'Tubular' turn the Samurai room at Cable in October 2012 inside out at the hands of Skeptical, Samurai Music's Presha contacted Fre4knc the very next day and signed the tune for a 12" release on the label. To complete the 12" some solid hours of collaboration and mix-down perfecting were put into 'Relic' which sees Fre4knc working with rising stars Mtwn and seasoned veteran Mindmapper. 'Theropod' is a digital exclusive that has also been a floor favourite for everyone in possession of the tune. A true DJ at heart, Dutch DJ/producer Fre4knc (pronounced "frequency") is seeing a rapid surge in popularity in 2013 after many years of solid devotion to promoting, DJing and producing DnB. His production name has become synonymous with raw, deep and techy drum & bass for the dancefloor. He has also built a reputation for quality DJing at his own Break-Fast events in Groningen (NL), his radioshow on jungletrain.net from 2002 till 2012, and as the label boss of Break-Fast Audio and his residency for the mighty SOLK nights. Now in 2013 he is pushing his sound further with a performance on ESNS 2013 and releases set for Samurai Music, Noisia's Invisible and Dispatch Recordings.
