Phidelity - Cloud Architecture

This is the first song I ever released! To top it off its a remix of two heros of mine... Steve Hillage, whos been putting out seminal releases since the 70's and my buddy evan, whos an all around amazing person.

I went for an aquatic feel on this one, inspired by snorkeling in hawaii and the feel of carefree buoyancy and lazy weightlessness =)

Steve Hillage & Evan Marc - Resurfacing Phidelity Remix

9.2024 Doe Bay, Orcas Island, Wa
2:30am-5am Saturday in the Xavi dome. 
The highlight of the night was ALL the homies showing up in full force; w/ blankets and lawn chairs to indulge this weirdness.
The crazy thing is that the spatial acoustics in geodesic domes are notoriously weird.... it gets even weirder when you play music specifically designed to mess with stereo fields, thank god for headphones.

Electroacoustic set at Imagine Festival [9.2024]

To be honest, I generally don't often gel with other DJs and usually politely decline tagteam / back to back sets... Eddie Kadeejah Streets is the exception. We seem to finish and elaborate upon each others narratives in the most pleasantly unexpected ways. On top of all that... it's just ridiculous fun.

First two hours is nils aka Phidelity B2B Kadeejah Streets. We played  on the twos (2 tracks per turn). The following two hours is absolute legends Pezzner B2B with Doza. Sweat was dripping off the ceiling of ye olde dirty rave dungeon.

 Big Up Seattle, I'll remember this night forever.

I'd heard about Barterfaire for years. It's an oldschool hippie swap meet up in Tonasket, Washington dating back to the 70s. It happens at the icy cold tail end of the festival season (perfect timing for trading all your fermented, handcrafted, and surplus warez you've accumulated for better shit). I also heard that they were generally unwelcoming to electronic music which is odd since all my friends who were insisting I attend are some of the rowdiest folks I know. 

Long story short: I showed up somewhat in the doldrums coming off a disheartening year at burningman. This is night one - being the only DJ, I played for around 4 hours and and dug into styles I frankly forgot about... like for 15 years.  shameful. It was the perfect sized audience dancing under the majestic Milky Way punctuated by the occasional slow shooting star streaming across the sky. Nights like these are a gentle reminder why we do this. 

Shout out to all the new lifelong friends I made this evening.

Live at Barterfaire [10.2022] (Night One)

Recorded live at a friends sun-drenched outdoor gathering at the stunning Oxbow river complex in 2019. (Big up Amity Group) 

I had honestly forgot everything about this mix until Rob from Deep N Bass reminded me that I had done one for them last weekend. We popped it on at our SuperBros weekend and I got to hear it more or less for the first time. 

For the mix cover I grabbed 8 different types of topographic maps of Oxbow Regional Park and used noise to collage between them.

This was intended for release on my first album but I made a boneheaded move and accidentally deleted the folder of this track as I was working on it and lost a few versions on it... So it sat on the back burner for a few years and stewed. enjoy

Squiddhartha - Vector Selector

an 80bpm psychedelic dub soundscape I made a while back. The sample is from the amazing Primer which was shot with a budget of $7,000. (ps science geeks: you need to see this flick) 

Title inspired by the amazing book by China Mieville of the same name. 

The vocal samples were run through a custom patch wrangled out of the KSP which used an LFO triggered mathematic function (FUN) controlling the pitching,placement of a laserverb.

Phidelity - Perdido Street Station

This is a set from my friend Craigs' annual Halloween party. 
Honestly, his basement sounds better than 90% of clubs in Portland. I used this set to explore this new branch of weird percussive techno that I've been in love with lately.

121 - Faithfull - Kwitter (Phidelitys remix)

This is a longer ambient dront sound design session playing with the Parasites - 'Oliverb' firmware installed into my DIY Clouds module. (see link description for more information) This update adds a fifth hidden mode to clouds and primarily focuses on give you a wide range of controls of the reverb parameters found in the other modes.

Clouds is the only module but I did use Konkreet Performer to control CV values for all the parameters by way of Expert Sleepers ES3mk3, OSC and Osculator. 

The only sound source was the original sample from Aphex Twins - Come to Daddy, which was frozen in the playback buffer and tweaked 100% live.

This is the final mastered version of my remix of Quades Cog Labin. I will be releasing another track of theirs I remixed free via bandcamp in a few weeks. Stay tuned.

When I started working on the Quade remixs I couldnt decide which tune to remix so I tried my hand at both - this was as far as I got with this remix before deciding to focus exclusively on Cog Labin as my primary remix. It's basically a sketch with some fancy routing to my Kurzweil KSP8 external FX.
