A funny thing happened on our honeymoon! 
On our way back from the Van Gogh museum, we stepped into a Police gun battle on one of Amsterdam’s iconic bridges, with a gun being fired right next to us. 
At the same time our (not so) smart phone kept giving us the weather in Newcastle where the ferry left… Bizarre! Still traumatised, I wrote this song the next day on the journey home.

“If you think you’re too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito!”
We should never talk ourselves out of doing something good simply because we feel our action will be 'too small to make a difference'!

As a 9 year old kid, I taught myself to play the harmonica - scout campfire stuff, mostly. Then, when I hit my teens, the Blues hit me and my harmonica playing took a different turn! Since then I've learned to play guitar and drums, but the harmonica has always been there, right alongside! This is a 'stripped down' version of one of my favourite blues songs with the help of my friend and piano wizard, Alan Barnett and featuring my old harmonica...

01 Blues On The Ceiling

I enjoy writing songs expressing my feelings about issues that are important to me. I also enjoy recording my songs and playing all (or nearly all) the instruments, as well as creating videos to use for promoting the songs.

I also love entertaining people. My solo act features well known pop, reggae, soul & blues songs as well as my own compositions. I don't use backing tracks: it's just me, guitar & harmonica.
