One year ago, just in the following of our 2nd release, one email landed in the RWAV mailbox praising about our label start & the excitement it provided. This email was including some unreleased tracks and signed by the hand of one of my favorite French producers of the last 15 years, Ludovic Llorca.

Beyond the great honor & surprise, this became the beginning of a deep artistic & human connection materialised by the appearance of his Carl Craig tribute, Terres Conquises & Philterism in my Perspectives serie in 2009. It was very clear from the start that these tracks would be the beginning of a long term collaboration on his Art Of Tones project.

The EP presented today is the fruit of Llorca’s inventive vision of what retro-futuristic Black rooted club music should be today. This 3 tracker is a perfect example of what House music can offer at its best when roots, history & identity are not forgotten on the way. The title track The World as I Live it is an hypnotic loopy builder that never stops building and create a unique climax, a kind of vitaminised version of Mr Parrish’s Ugly Edits. The track has proved to be an instant favorite of many House heavyweights such as Tony Humphries, Kink, Mike Monday or D’julz. Breaking Bad is offering an irresistible & more musical version of the Disco Funk rooted sound. For the ones that cherished the famous Raw Cuts of MCDE, this is maybe the sophisticated French savoir-faire answer to them. The track has proved to received early rotation in the best clubs from Berlin to Glasgow, from Istambul to Stockholm.
And finally, the Argument is probably the most hybrid & edgy track of the EP and is genuinely the nugget for the freestylers amongst you.

  To celebrate the first birthday of the label, Dairmount is delivering the 4th instalement of his acclaimed Perspectives serie with once again only exclusive material by top producers of the label and some new funkateers joining the family.

  Seven tracks of the highest order including the unstoppable Motor City Drum Ensemble presenting a fantastic Mr Fingers tribute, the label's Gothenburg Techno wizard Joel Alter (praised by Hawtin, Hell & Pullen) with his cross-pollinating Ride With Me with crazy vocals of Eric D Clark (Remember Disco To Disco?) and Tronicsole wunderkid Hiro offering his personal rendition of Art Of Tones' Breaking Bad.

  Franklin De Costa, known for his work on Dieb, Einmaleins or Connaisseur, contributes with the hypnotic Lost Me while label honcho project duo Dairmount & Berardi retweaked André Lodemann's Dark Edge (out of the successful Vehemence Of Silence EP of last autumn). Last but not least, Christoffer Berg (noticed for his work with Little Dragon & Fever Ray) & his brother Alex Berg (aka Cloud) joined forces as John Berg to grace us of a tremendous deep house odyssey to close this full length.

  The release will be pre-released for the Miami Winter Conference on Traxsource next week and the official release will follow on APRIL 2nd 2010.

Motor City Drum Ensemble / Moving Through Clouds

After 1 good year of hiatus, Room With A View is back in full effect with a very special 3 tracker by Kyodai, a duo that has been gathering serious momentum after highly celebrated releases on Local Talk, Exploited, Freerange or Pokerflat to name a few.

The famous brother pair has proven to be working hard in the last years recording, remixing & touring extensively. Reknown for their energitic live performances & to have deliver tracks & remixes that have been played by the Who's who of the global House scene, Kyodai have decided to choose RWAV to deliver some very personal tracks. In 2013 already, they appeared on our label with the uplifting "What You Give" that became on of the key tracks of the live sets of the last 2 years.

Enjoying a long 15 years friendship with Dairmount and a common love of hybrid tracks loaded of musicality, Javi & Luis decided to lock themselves in studio last winter inspired by the idea to be the artist chosen to relaunch the label in 2015. The title Times Fly symbolises the longevity of friends that went through 2 decades of creation & exchange.

And the result has been as surprising as the pair shaped up a very hypnotic & tribal red line with these new tunes. The title track "Times Fly" has been recorded in a few hours on a full moon night in their berlin studio, managing to induce a perfect balance of melancholy & tribal rhythms. Quite different of their usual sound signature, the track got everything to conquer the hearts of many different dj's & listeners this summer. "Sacred Ritual" is born of the idea of creating a special tool for Panorama Bar (where the pair just played before their studio time in january) and focusing on the power of drums & percussions. Finally, "You Know It" is reminiscent of their classic Kyodai sound epitomised by their hit Breaking with filtered basslines & catchy samples. The track has been one of the big crowd pleasers of their recent live sets.

“It took me only a few minutes to realise that André is one of these rare individuals that make you feel instantly “at home”… I understood quickly then that the music I discovered earlier on labels like Moods & Groove or Simple, was a real mirror of his soul…”
It is indeed on a cold day of that 2008 Berlin autumn that André & myself had a tea time & decided to work together. André decided spontaneously to record fresh material especially for the label, more than 6 months before our first release. This says a lot about the common trust that was born that day, much before the hype surrounded the man.

The result of this saw the light some weeks later in the form of Vehemence Of Silence, a track of indeniable power which breathes long years of djing & Berlin afterhours as much as uncovering close impressions of André’s emotional outcome. This is what made me feel that track like a whisper to my body & soul and what makes me so proud to release it today… More than 10 months down the line, André improved it, tested it on the floor till a final club listening session in the middle of the Berghain dancefloor where we both knew it was ready to be shared…

This special track needed of course outstanding alternative perspectives and it didn’t take me long to propose my old friends Martin Iveson & Danilo Plessow (both amongst André’s favorites) to give it their magic : Atjazz managed to bring the track in subtle afro territories twisted with early Prescription echoes while Motor City Drum Ensemble’s version translates an unexpected Techno jam reminiscent of the best early Soma days. The EP is completed by a fantastic dub by André himself and a second original called Dark Edge, a sophisticated & raw deep house joint.

It's already the third episode of the Perspectives serie served with love by DAIRMOUNT who prepared with lots of care the fattest compilation of his young imprint with nothing less than 8 high standard tracks, all exclusive to this release.

The unstoppable MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE, who is currently topping both vinyl & digital charts with his latest Raw Cuts & his remixes of Dj T & Steve Bug, graced us with a beautiful moody number with a distinctive MCDE pedigree. Our old friend SASSE will release a full EP with us in 2010 and we couldn't wait to present you Lake Michigan, an inspired little "clin d'oeil" to Detroit godfathers, part of his forthcoming EP.

HONESTY retweaked SYGAIRE's classic The Time Is Now to give it a late night dubbiness touch of the best order while Ludovic Llorca offers one of his ART OF TONES solid builder with Philterism, a track heavily played by Dairmount since he fell in love with it...

Static Off (Dust Away) marks another moment of studio experimentation for the mighty duo DAIRMOUNT and MARINO BERARDI who seem to take unexpected ways track after track. After the acclaimed Omni on Perspectives 02, this is another slice of hybrid House music.

ANDRÉ LODEMANN, one of Berlin's hot shots of 2009, fresh from his massive Vehemence Of Silence EP on our label, signed another serious Deep House number called Gentle Doubt that will satisfy his numerous new fans.

Round The Block is another Dairmount's discovery courtesy of the respected WERNER NIEDERMEIER who produced remarkable stuff this year on Supplement Facts & Phonica (as JC Freaks). Pure boompty bump for your pleasure!

And finally, JOEL ALTER, one of our favorite Swedish producers, dropped Control, a druggy nugget announcing his flamboyant Omerta EP due in November this year.

    I discovered Marlow 10 years ago when he was one of the main artists of Leipzig's Moon Harbour and always appreciated his unique sense of deepness. This is what brought me to invite him to take part to the RWAV adventure one year & a half ago, when the label was not even started.

    Marlow has been one of the first artists to join the label family and the vision of this very personal EP has been a long time in shaping. In between, he recorded the remarkable Fonk & Digga tracks for our Perspective serie in 2009 and released Look Over Feel feat Mo'Joe on Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity. He recently produced an exclusive track called Donny at the request of Matthias Tanzmann to take part to the 10th year birthday compilation of Moon Harbour.

    In my eyes, there is no doubt that Marlow is still a huge and pretty underrated talent and I'm positive that this EP will make him justice considering the strong personality contained in every of these tracks and the world class production they display. Being a big Black Music lover, it has been a very natural development for him to dig in his vinyl collection to find the cohesion of mood on this EP, tainted of dusty Soul vinyls.

    Being a man of collaboration (on production duties for the Pentatones & Matthias Kaden's full length), it has been no surprise to see him bringing his friends ComixXx & Knixx for a little dance. The title track Put Off is a perfect example of this and My Little Acid Sheep is the result of a spontaneous late night jam in Berlin in ComixXx's bedroom lab. Fans of Slomo House will be delighted to discover So What that proved to be a secret weapon already in the box of Jimpster and The Revenge to name a few.

    This beautiful EP will also be available as a hand numbered ultra limited cd edition, conceived & realised by Marlow himself. The cd will be available in the RWAV shop and with selected retailers & mailorders.

We are truly thrilled to celebrate our 4th label birthday with our first spring release of 2013. Following a long series of luminaries such as MCDE. Lodemann, Sasse, Marlow or Joel Alter who Dairmount invited along the years to shape & share his musical fantaisies, this new release unite a pretty unique cast of established sound scientists & upcoming talents. All of them answered warmly Dairmount's invitation, being loyal fans of the label. 

Dave Aju, the Bay Area sound guru, is still surfing high on the wave of his acclaimed Heirlooms album last year on Circus Company. He also recently released on Herbert's Accidental imprint. Love Tap opens the release in style displaying a very unusual sound drifting away of his trademark moody house. Reminiscent of early Global Communication's work, Dave Aju explored deep & spacey soundscapes echoing hypnotic Soul samples, creating a very unique hypnotic sound odyssey. 

Strong of 2 acclaimed EP's on Room With A View in 2011 & 2012, Nowakowski kept working hard shaping up a very mature sound signature colliding elements of bicep Techno, moody House & UK Bass influences. They Get Up is a perfect proof of where the Swedish Polish prodigy stands today. Expect more of this young fella on his home label and on further respected labels. 

Adam Hodgins aka Iron Galaxy is probably one of the hottest newcomers of 2012. Responsible of the hugely acclaimed Attention Seeker on Audioculture, the track has been played & charted by everybody across the board. We are extremely delighted to offer you this 8 minutes sound trip called Refining Fire. The montreal based producer made marvels once again with this genuine drum machine opera. 

Discovered by Dairmount through their brilliant output on Freude Am Tanzen, German duo Taron Trekka signed an amazingly addictive groover called Nenndas. Already a prime favorite of Wolf Music's star Greymatter...
