This set is a tribute to our inspirational journey through the middle east. From the Emirati desert, to the white mountains of Teheran, from the island of the Persian Gulf to the peninsula of the Mediterranean coast. We thank the people and artists that we have met through this amazing trip. 
Life is full of surprises and we are looking forward to go fly back there to play and discover more.

Desert Dreams

Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, Tuğçe Kurtiş grew up with a love for music, especially music performance. At age 6, she joined the school choir and started singing. Since then, she performed in countless occasions in Turkey, the US, Brazil, Costa Rica and Paraguay. Tuğçe studied voice, ear training, jazz vocals, and West-African drumming with percussionist Milford Graves and singer & songwriter Sheila Jordan among others. Various listeners have remarked that her voice is "ethereal", "something ancient, calling from the primeval darkness of fairytale". Tuğçe's musical interests cross genres and continents. She has collaborated as a singer, songwriter, and co-producer with Paraguayan musician & producer Santi on three albums: Ciclico (2014), Songs for Another Day (2015), and El Regreso del Gallito (2016). She has also released four singles: Istanbul'a (2017), Donde Va (2016), Sevda Çiçeği   (2016) and Backflash (2015). As the founder of the Kybele project, she aspires to develop opportunities for greater collaboration and broader inclusion of artists from around the world.

Der heutige Podcast kommt von meinem Afterhour Sounds Buddy Tony Casanova aus Berlin. Tony hat sich mit Leib und Seele der elektronischen Musik verschrieben und das ist wirklich mal ein Glücksfall für uns alle. Ob als DJ oder als Producer, Tony weiß genau wie er den Dancefloor zum Kochen bringt und das ganz immer mit seiner casanovischen Freundlichkeit.

Seit kurzem ist Tony nun auch fester Bestandteil des grandiosen „Station Endlos“ Kollektiv aus Halle die mit ihren Floor-Konzepten und ihrem DJ-Kollektiv seit ein paar Jahren die Festival und Clublandschaft maßgeblich bereichern. Und natürlich ist Tony nicht mehr aus unserem Herzensprojekt Afterhour Sounds wegzudenken.

Auch für sound(ge)cloud hat sich Tony wieder mächtig ins Zeug gelegt und einen äußerst rhythmischen, verspielten und tiefgehenden Mix gebastelt. Don Dini kicks off! Two floor-filling houz bombs by Compost’s long term house specialist Shahrokh Dini, backed with remixes by Karim Sahraoui and LoYoTo (which are Eva Be and Clé from Berlin) and a nice fluffy digital bonus remix by Flo Førg.

Purveyor to the house royals and regalness, Shahrokh Dini (now you can call him a Dino, or Don Dini) has got an atttracted widespread support througout his long long career as a DJ and true house producer. He had releases on Strictly Rhythm back in the days (late 90s) and with a boast of enviable releases on Compost Black Label he was supported by  me, Ron Trent, Jimpster, Dimitri From Paris, Rainer Trueby, Sasse, Laurent Garnier and many many others.

By the way, Shahrokh Dini is not only a house producer and DJ, he is running clubs since the mid 90ties, frequently he promotes club-music events, he has various DJ residencies, and his own club called „Monk“ in his hometown Karlsruhe.

An electronic music DJ, remixer, composer and producer.
Noted for his versatility and musical range, Philip attributes much of his influences to his Middle Eastern heritage and western upbringing. Known for his unmistakable sound, Philip's DJ sets and productions are rich with groovy hypnotic melodies and driving basslines. In his young years, Philip played percussion with his brother Julien and some high school mates, performing as musical act Elemental. Much of Philip's early nightlife experience began in the late 90s toward the end of high school, in Montreal at Sona and Redlite. Over the years, he began working more frequently in the studio on original productions and remixes, and further developed his audio engineering skills. A few of Philip's early studio mentors are Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Habersham, Max Graham, Darin Epsilon to name a few.
After finishing university, Philip moved to Miami in 2005 and after to relocated to Belgium and Holland. While staying in Europe, Philip promoted his sound at festivals like the Amsterdam Dance Event and Tomorrowland.
In 2012, Philip returned to Miami. While in Miami Philip had the opportunity to play in distinguished clubs like Vagabond and Nikki and enjoyed residencies at TSL Lounge, Treehouse, Do Not Sit on the Furniture, among others. Chedid performed with some of the world's most celebrated artists from all dance music genres, such as Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, Dave Seaman, Eelke Kleijn, Marc Marzenit, Guy Mantzur, Sahar Z, Darin Epsilon, Clarian, Einmusik, Omid 16B, SIS, Thomas Schumacher, Birds of Mind, Armen Miran, Bedouin, Vanilla Ace, H-Foundation, Jody Wisternoff, Danny Howells, Miyagi, Jozif, Of Norway, Mikey Lion, Tara Brooks, Flavio Navarro, Zach Walker, Jonathan Will, Derek Hena, Aninha, among others.
In the Spring of 2014, Philip released "Remaindermen" on Sound Avenue's "We are the Future" spring compilation. His Spring 2016 Bayti EP on Crossfade sounds received solid support and recommendations from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, among others. His 2016 collab with Darin Epsilon 'Endless Sands of Time' [Parquet] received stellar reviews by Deep House Amsterdam, among other noted publishers. Over the next couple years, the releases have been coming more anand in 2017 Philip formed the imprint Endless Sands of Time. Now residing in Los Angeles, Philip continues to work on his craft and is recognized as a up and coming artist with much potential in the scene.
