      Rewind << As any good mix tells a story,  Simina Grigoriu doesn't just know how to impress techno music through her DJ sets, she herself is a mixture of diverse cultural and musical influences. Born in Romania, raised in Toronto, and since then arriving to Berlin, she describes a synthesis of the violin and keyboard lessons she had in her childhood, the discovery of her parent's vinyl treasures and the hip-hop free styling of her student days. 

        Paired with her love of techno, which she discovered somewhat later in the clubs in Toronto, as well as the musical influences of Jeff Mills, Josh Wink and Juan Atkins, to name a few, the diverse artiste also developed a talent for entertaining her audience and surprising them over and over again. 

        Play > At the moment, Simina is starting work on her first album, all the while keeping busy with her regular bookings. Simina has released  music on Berlin label Sonat Records, as well as with Italian labels Intelectro Vibe and Frequenza Records. In production mode, she is currently looking forward to projects with labels such as Bohemian Yacht Club, Real Music Records and Phase Insane Records.  

        Fast Forward >> Alongside her production and regular touring schedule, Simina will be performing on the Goldfingers Tour in concert halls throughout Germany, and later this year, she is once again lined up as opening act for the PK Tour with Paul Kalkbrenner. Simina is definitely one of techno’s burgeoning talents to watch. Her performance and hardwork are quickly building credibility and getting her much deserved attention in these early years of her career. We definitely have not heard the last of her! But as Frank Zappa would say, "Talking about music is like dancing about architecture." Simina Grigoriu is an experience not to be missed!

Today we are happy to announce Alex Bass, better known as „D33P“, as our latest member in our bartender team.  

Based in Tel Aviv, Israel, Alex has a broad experience in the electronic music business with releases on noteworthy labels and under various aliases (such as Colorless).  

After founding his own graphic design company and the birth of his daughter two years ago, it got quite around D33P and releases or guest sets became very rare.  

We are happy to have him back today with a declicious Jack Rose, packed with deep and techy sounds, mixed exclusively for Schirmchendrink. And we are looking forward to new D33P grooves coming up on his own imprint D33P Music.

Kuukou head Simina Grigoriu steps up to the plate for her label’s 9th release with "Makibishi", a no-nonsense three tracker including one original banger and two trippy remixes.

Main composition "Makibishi" unveils a marauding lead, with a mesmerizing bassline and choppy subdued vocals slashing their way into dark techno realm. Decayed grunts and distorted kicks summon a dungeon-like atmosphere, while an exotic vocal instills an air of strange familiarity.

Along with the initial "Makibishi" incursion, the EP offers up highly versatile reconstructions with alternating moods to fit any floor vibe, so long as it’s inherently and undoubtedly a tech infused affair.

An electronic music DJ, remixer, composer and producer.
Noted for his versatility and musical range, Philip attributes much of his influences to his Middle Eastern heritage and western upbringing. Known for his unmistakable sound, Philip's DJ sets and productions are rich with groovy hypnotic melodies and driving basslines. In his young years, Philip played percussion with his brother Julien and some high school mates, performing as musical act Elemental. Much of Philip's early nightlife experience began in the late 90s toward the end of high school, in Montreal at Sona and Redlite. Over the years, he began working more frequently in the studio on original productions and remixes, and further developed his audio engineering skills. A few of Philip's early studio mentors are Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Habersham, Max Graham, Darin Epsilon to name a few.
After finishing university, Philip moved to Miami in 2005 and after to relocated to Belgium and Holland. While staying in Europe, Philip promoted his sound at festivals like the Amsterdam Dance Event and Tomorrowland.
In 2012, Philip returned to Miami. While in Miami Philip had the opportunity to play in distinguished clubs like Vagabond and Nikki and enjoyed residencies at TSL Lounge, Treehouse, Do Not Sit on the Furniture, among others. Chedid performed with some of the world's most celebrated artists from all dance music genres, such as Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, Dave Seaman, Eelke Kleijn, Marc Marzenit, Guy Mantzur, Sahar Z, Darin Epsilon, Clarian, Einmusik, Omid 16B, SIS, Thomas Schumacher, Birds of Mind, Armen Miran, Bedouin, Vanilla Ace, H-Foundation, Jody Wisternoff, Danny Howells, Miyagi, Jozif, Of Norway, Mikey Lion, Tara Brooks, Flavio Navarro, Zach Walker, Jonathan Will, Derek Hena, Aninha, among others.
In the Spring of 2014, Philip released "Remaindermen" on Sound Avenue's "We are the Future" spring compilation. His Spring 2016 Bayti EP on Crossfade sounds received solid support and recommendations from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, among others. His 2016 collab with Darin Epsilon 'Endless Sands of Time' [Parquet] received stellar reviews by Deep House Amsterdam, among other noted publishers. Over the next couple years, the releases have been coming more anand in 2017 Philip formed the imprint Endless Sands of Time. Now residing in Los Angeles, Philip continues to work on his craft and is recognized as a up and coming artist with much potential in the scene.
