These are songs recorded on my portable 8 track by the sea. I recorded this with my old drum machine at 3am a few weeks ago out on the lagoon, you may be able to hear the swans if you listen closely enough :). 

About me: I’ve been trying recording in different places, mainly to try to capture a different "energy" if you like and give the song a story behind it..a nice by-product is the unusual acoustics. I take the basics; a portable recorder, an acoustic guitar, a drum machine and a mic. That's about as much as I can carry. I get the main parts of the song done like that and then I come home maybe add bass or a needed overdub and then mix it.


About the song: What inspired me with this was when I found a Facebook page dedicated to memories of an old long closed holiday camp that was in my village of Nyetimber called the Rivera Lido Holiday Club, it was a typical "Hi-de-hi" type place. It was open through the 50's till about 1985. I found all these amazing old holiday photos on there...good times long past..and also pictures of it as a ghost town being demolished in the 80's. Now it is a housing estate with not a trace left…While browsing the photos I suddenly recognised the exact spot of one taken in 1974 right on the local lagoon not a 100 yards from my house. The man in the photo was apparently a very popular entertainer at he holiday camp..long since passed away…so that was it..I went and recorded the song on same spot in the photo..

Time Slows Down

I just recorded this last night outside on my iPhone..had to boost the level right up on my computer as it was so quiet!..story later :)
