'Time Traveller' is a downright dirty colab with DJ Limited and next up Sub Zero fires up the heat, joining forces with the ethereal-voiced folk singer Lucy Kitchen on 'Heart's on Fire'.

Rounding this one up is minimalist anthem 'Something for the Weekend'.

After the collaboration single with Protune & a feature in the Mainframe Soldiers Series, DisasZt returns into the scene with an epic, yet perfect track to finish up this summer in a breath-taking way, showing his intention to create something personal but relevant to the whole scene.

A combination of intricate drum edits, a heavy complex sound & precise vocals: The “Trojan Horse” will be stopping wherever you want.

Also joining up on this single are two duos, Telekinesis and our label-own fire starters Dossa & Locuzzed. Telekinesis’ remix is stepping up the level of heaviness, incorporating their dominant style, once again with Coppa’s vocals.

Finishing up this masterpiece is Dossa&Locuzzed’s remix, calming down the mood with a tremendous array of drum patterns and typical bass growls. The Austrian duo is showing us, yet again, the power of their production style.

Instinkt are Rune and Kaiza, and return to Lifestyle Recordings for the issue of LFS052, the Focus EP. 
Four slamming cuts of pure quality, the release carries on their rich seam of success, coming after Infliction/Shadow which they dropped on Abducted Ltd earlier in the year.

Distilling a classic sound whilst still heading always into the future, Instinkt represent a blend of tech, neuro and other elements in their music. Hard, uncompromising and pure, the duo’s production is always on point. Let Levitate, Crook, Focus and Nebula take you into the minds and imaginations of Instinkt.
Opener Levitate is a slow burner, taking its time to build up before dropping down into an intense haze of off-kilter sound. Minimal and militaristic, the track manages to strip itself down to the essentials, but still be full of a weird, underground life force. Unrelenting, Levitate will lift you up to the heights with silky synths later on.

Quick on its heels is the more electronic Crook. Driving, pulsing bass dominates this one, with warped effects sliding in and out of the mix. Time and reality slip from your grasp, only the music becomes important, and your whole world is taken over by the madness of the Crook.

Title track Focus is a beast of a tune, with crashing and slashing noise flashing across your brain as Rune and Kaiza completely take over the universe. This really is as big a tune as you’ll hear all year. Constantly rebuilding and re-establishing itself, the metronomic beat is about all you can hold on to. Buzzing chainsaws clash with rising beats and intense melodies, only to fall down and rise again.

Nebula rounds things out, rocketing the EP far into the stratosphere. Roaring bass notes counterplay with sharp beats and a sense of menace which is found throughout the EP.

Over the past year, Gerra & Stone have become one of the most exciting duos to take the genre’s forefront. The single appeals to a diverse group of music listeners. Whether across the subs of London’s haunts, or the headphones of any technical music listener, these next two sonic cuts pedestal not only their understanding of a diverse sound design, but also their ability to conquer it. 

‘Dnt U’ is a riddim which cuts and swerves between cascading breaks and instantly recognisable drum patterns. The junglist influences are given a stockiness by an LFO bassline and distortion, falling between amen and quaking sub. It shows a clear persona etched out by the two producers, one which has made them instantly recognisable from the outset. 

The next up, ‘Chicago’ also brings an old school vibe whilst utilising more contemporary techniques. Flipping beat patterns draw you in, whilst metallic percussion drives you forward at an incredible speed.
