This is the start of something fun! Ever since my brother passed in February, I've been consuming worship music because that's the music he loved the most; music that gives reverence and glory to God. I'd thought I'd take some of my favorite worship songs and give them twist. We'll call these the Sunday Sessions. I hope you enjoy the first installment!

There's a vast number of people of who's struggling with identity or what's their purpose in life. 1 Peter 2:9 tells us who we are and what God has called us to be. You're identity is in Christ. I went through this phase of not knowing my identity for so long until I completely gave my life to Christ. The first verse is God talking to me. The second verse is me talking to God and coming to realization, He is all I need.

This is the first single from my upcoming EP, "Nu Age Soul" coming soon.

This song is basically a call to action for anyone stagnant about making the change they want to see. We can sometimes be so focused on what's going in the media, we often forget about the problems that don't make it on the news. There are other killings that don't make the national news and only a few people are taking the initiative to change the communities those killings don't get nationally televised . Most importantly, young people are dear to my heart, so this song is also a question and hopefully an encouragement to other believers. Why aren't most of us taking initiative in changing the narrative of the younger generation? Instead of just praying some receive Christ, reach the ones we can and the best time to do it is now.

I finished this song this morning. It’s about fear. Something a lot of us struggle with now and it can be crippling to our growth and withhold us from truly experiencing life, regardless of what it may throw at us. I produced the instrumental last night and tried writing the song, but I hit a wall. Until, I had a conversation with my wife this morning about something and it gave me the ammunition I needed to finish it. Honestly, I was encouraging myself because fear has paralyzed me for years due to past trauma; however, God has not given me the spirit of fear. So, I’d be doing a disservice to Him by dwelling in it. I hope this song encourages someone.
