“O, Hallelujah” is about how “timing is literally everything when it comes to dating.” Scales wrote when he was getting to know his girlfriend. “We grabbed drinks and ended up talking all night. At some point, we figured out that we both lived in two of the same cities at the same time before we met. Musing about where we were in our lives at those times, I realized that had we met any earlier, it wouldn’t have worked out. I went home immediately and wrote the song.”

Phillip-Michael was born in Michigan, forged in Chicago, and now lives in Nashville, TN. He grew up with B.B. King calling him “nephew” and calls his music "Dive Bar Soul,"  a blend of Indie Rock storytelling and the passion of the blues. In February of 2022, he caught the attention of Ellen Degeneres who featured him on her show.
