I was the musical director of a nightclub in Houston with singing waitresses. I'd take one a week to a talent contest and win. Winning again with the grand prize winner. Darlene was a singing waitress. I took her with me to the revolving restaurant at the top of the Hyatt, at the Houston airport. Rusty Burns on guitar. I think he was about three albums into the Arista contract. we let him out of his contract to sign with Bill Hamm.

Remix. Jennifer Reaks supplied most of the lyrics. We did a duo on South Padre Island. Nicely paid to have your feet in the sand. Jennifer was of Russian stock, and the literate nature of her lyrics is an honorable reflection of cultural strength. 
R.I.P. Jennifer. Special thanks to her nephew for getting in touch.

David Peel gave me a copy of an audio interview of John Lennon defending Peel’s songwriting. Peel rewarded his loyalty by penning this excellent track. It is without a doubt my favorite Peel composition. He doesn’t sing on this which some wags might say is a big plus. I really like this song. I flew to New Orleans to record on some Peel sessions and I took this track away with me because I did like it so much. I never even heard the tracks I played on for the album. I’d like to now though, lol.

 Another engineer, at a recording studio in Houston, and I were just passing time, with no sessions booked. The only take. Hindsight reveals its charms.
