Pangea Radio June 2023 - AATM

This was my first time attending Element 11. Tons of art, theme camps, and nice people. It’s a great size to run into new friends again. Found some thumping music from the Joule art car and Catalün sound camp, and wompy music at Sophistipirates. 

I didn't know what type of music preferences to expect from folks beyond our camp, so I brought a good amount of approachable tunes and old favorites. They were pretty receptive to techno, so I ended up layering more and more in as the set progressed. 

The recording didn't start at the beginning of the set, but we got most of it. That means we hit record after the warm up vibes and this mix dives right in. Big thanks to Scott Tucker for running sound and encouraging me to attend.

I’m a hobbyist with a focus on chunky tech, lush soundscapes, moody vibes, and hypnotic rhythm. 

I’m not too worried about a purist sound. I look for ways to expand my musical vocabulary and make underground music more approachable for everyone. 

I started DJing with drum & bass on vinyl. As digital DJ equipment became available, I grew to appreciate the ability to loop and play with tunes in a less linear fashion and began gravitating towards progressive, psychedelic techno. 

I’ve played up and down the west coast of the US and Mexico at burning man & regionals, desert gatherings in the Mojave, and warehouse parties in  LA, SD, and SF.
