How It Works
Step 1: Producers, singers, dancers, rappers, models and fashion designers form a high school Rap team at their school (or in their region).
 
Step 2: Students prepare a 20 minute performance showcasing their talent. Performances must include the following components:
- Originally produced instrumental tracks
- At least 1 song with a socially conscious message.
- At least 1 song that pays homage to hip hop heritage.
- At least one battle rap
 
Step 3: Students work with the Philly Rap League curriculum to develop their performance, business plan, and to promote Hip Hop culture in Philadelphia.
 
Step 4: Students present their performance at a bi-monthly performance competition between Philadelphia High schools.
 
The format for the performance is:
***Opening performance by celebrity host.
-Home team performs 15 mins (3-5 songs).
***Halftime guest performance from celebrity host.
-Visitor team performs 15 minutes (3-5 songs).
-5 to 10 minute rap battle between schools
-Visitor team performs 1 final song
-Home team performs 1 final song
***Final celebrity guest performance.
