Music producer Philip “Philmac” McAdams from Gadsden, Alabama and raised in Birmingham, Alabama has been making funky southern beats with lyrical flows for the past 25 years. Combining his southern hip-hop style with his signature production style, he released his debut album "P-Funk" in 1998.

A one man band in the studio, he writes, produces and plays guitar, bass, drums and synthesizers on his debut album and cites a wide variety of influences ranging from artists in rap, R&B, and rock. "I love making music because producers had a major impact on me. Producers like Dallas Austin, Organized Noize, The Neptunes, Dr. Dre, RZA, Quincy Jones, DJ Premier, and DJ Magic Mike really inspired me to pursue music as a career." 

Boasting synth loops over 808’s, stuttered hi-hats and snares, "P-Funk" often plays like a hypnotically smoothed out soundtrack for the south's picturesque landscape. Philmac spits his cut-blunt-and-ride philosophy with rapid southern fire twang on songs “Superfreak”, “Illegal”, “Highhh”, “P-Funk”. With his debut album "P-Funk", Philmac shows the music world a new hip-hop sound is on the horizon from Alabama!
