The Drawing Frame

Allotropic Coda was constructed as one of numerous fragmentary visions for the project Unfolding Space: An Allotropic Dance in Three Parts for Two Players. Unfolding Space was performed as a multimedia paper in collaboration with Marsha Meskimmon for Articulations (ASCA, Amsterdam). Allotropic Coda incorporates ambiguous and manipulated vocal samples.

Drawings augmented voice 
Imaginably a condition of passing
Fictional … ‘Fancy [that]!’

A few obsolete echoes scratch and scrape 
their morning mundane
Each day drawn to water in The Museum

… murmuring …

… Close your eyes

Unable to be imagined
Unimaginable
Slighting and unthinkable

… mumbling …

… Cup your hands

Cold fingers impressed upon a pavement 
that their light was insincere
So I choose to draw an obscure silence

Meanwhile …

Mouthing movements of air
White light
pervading a corner hitherto undisturbed
by nervous impulse 
triggered mechanisms not yet controlled
by my balance 
So?

They agreed …

A fissure waking jaded faded 
gasping lifeless yet mute 
will crawl to a time of day
then lay down and …
