In writing, arranging, producing, performing, and mixing/remixing all of the music, Phil Tallo takes the listener on a 12-minute journey and partly back in time to 1999/2000 when trance and progressive house were catapulted from the underground into the mainstream almost overnight…but only for a short time. According to Phil in a recent interview, this 2-year period (give or take) encompasses some of the best, most exciting, and craziest times of his young adulthood.

Composing and featuring two of his favorite and most popular styles of dance music at the turn of the millennium, PT cryptically titles one ‘Doc Bean’ and the other ‘The Gazelle’ as they embark on the ultimate sonic battle of the ages…all the while positioning themselves to the listener as being the opening act of what seems to be the main, more anticipated feature. In this case, it is a remix of ‘Hold On Tight,’ in which the original version was written, produced, performed, and officially released as a single by Phil Tallo in 2020.

After producing and recording each tune separately, Phil then mixes the 2 songs back and forth (hence, “vs” in the title of the track) leading up to, during, and even after the newly, techno-refined interpretation/adaptation of ‘Hold On Tight.’ However, the genius of this miniture “Tranceport,” which includes “Traveling” in a time capsule for about 50% of the ride, is that there really isn’t an opening or a main act. Although meant to flow into/out of, build up to, break down from, and even compliment each other, each musical idea/style is very cleverly and TRANCEparently mixed as one epic voyage with a glimpse of past inspiration.

Phil Tallo is an American Singer-Songwriter/Composer, Arranger, Music Producer, Pianist/Keyboardist, Multi-Instrumentalist, Lyricist, and an active member of ASCAP as a registered composer, author (pertaining to song lyrics), and music publisher. Born and raised in the St. Louis area of Missouri, Phil's passion for music sparked at an early age as he began taking piano lessons at the tender age of 6 and started writing songs by age 15. In the fall of 2003, after studying music at Webster University, he moved to Los Angeles, California where he resided for over 18 years as a successful songwriter and music producer. Now he is back in St. Louis where it all began.
 
Since the 2011 release of his debut LP titled ‘Live For The Day,’ Phil has been heavily focused on expanding his repertoire, which constitutes a diverse catalog of songs encompassing multiple genres and various styles of music. He aspires to create timeless and dramatic music that, along with the lyrics, most often depict stories relatable to the average person and/or life in general. Influenced by captivating melodies (for allure and appeal), rich harmonies (for detail and color), and shifting dynamics (for mood and emotion), he strives to incorporate these same characteristics into his own compositions while also aiming to make sure that each one is both musically and lyrically unique from the others. All in all, Phil wishes to let his music speak for itself.
