Having been involved in Sydney’s music scene for over 15 years, Phil brings with him a wealth of experience that has seen him play alongside some of the world’s most influential Musicians, DJs and Producers including Roy Ayers, Francois K, David Morales, Grandmaster Flash, Todd Terry, Ron Carroll, Dj Spen, Joey Negro, Derrick Carter, Osunlade, John Morales, Marshall Jefferson, DJ Rahaan, Copyright, Jay J, Chuck Love, Simon Dunmore and Alton Miller.

Phil has also played at some of Australia’s biggest festivals including Soulfest, Playground Weekender, Peats Ridge, Vivid Festival and The Sydney Festival.

His musical passion and talent has also seen him perform in New York, Amsterdam and the Middle East.

SOUL OF SYDNEY #430: PHIL TOKE @ SYDNEY FESTIVAL at the SOUL OF SYDNEY showcase featuring OYOBI | Jan 2025. 

This extended opening set starts with a special homage to our Lebanese roots, featuring the timeless voice of Fairouz opening up the venue before weaving into rare groove, soul, and slowly building the dancefloor with funk, disco, and a touch of hip hop goodness.

Recorded live on the beautiful wharf dancefloor at Moonshine, Walsh Bay, for Sydney Festival in January 2025, our own Lebanese soul brother Phil Toke sets the tone as people arrive slowly warming up the exposed timber dancefloor for the incredible Oyobi, who followed with their live showcase.

He has recently toured Reykjavik, Moscow, Berlin, Milan, Dublin, Gent, Vienna, Brussels, Amsterdam, Ibiza, Geneva, Bilbao, Badajoz, Lausanne, Belgrade, Lisbon, Porto, Aveiro, Faro, Zagreb, Tel Aviv, Istanbul, Hvar island and Brighton. In August 2013 he did a North American tour, playing in Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Seattle, Orlando, San Diego, Miami and Vancouver. Followed by a small Asia tour, playing in Beijing, Shanghai and Bali in August 2014.
In July 2015 he played for the first time in 2 cities in Japan: Nagano and Tokyo.

For June this year a new Tour is already scheduled with dates in New Zealand and Australia.
