Following on from their standout debut, Habitat, Maribou State return with a new single on Fat! Records – Got Me Down. Their sultry world is opened up further, muffled kicks building into deft housey vibes that glide around disorientating vocal hooks in a sonic universe brimming with character.

Remixes come from a crop of fine rising talent, Lancashire duo Bondax wrap the tune in their humid atmospherics, the rework from Pále offers a skewed spacious poise. Canadian HxdB brings things down a notch, ekeing languorous new qualities out of the samples. Jason Burns adds fizz and menace that shifts and swerves with tropical edge. The remix from OhMan! pulsates with classic vibes before revealing gnarly bass qualities.

With an official remix forthcoming for Two Bears (Southern Fried) in January alongside another for Wretch 32 on Ministry of Sound, 2012 is set to be a dazzling year for this immensely promising duo. 


Maribou State - Got Me Down

Southern Fried Records latest signing, Maribou State, are the ambient electronic double act making all the right noises.  Preferring to remain pretty much ungoogleable, the two turntable based musicians create beautifully elegant constellations of progressive sounds and melodies.
