May 2014, the first release on Amsterdam imprint Format appeared. It was Amsterdam techno figurehead Juan Sanchez under his JSSL guise. Since then, he pushed an enormous amount of local techno talent alongside an impressive list of icons such as Mike Parker, Matrixxman, Truncate and many more. Over the span of almost 30 releases Sanchez has created his own vibrant world of hard hitting, deep tripping techno and he plans on keep doing so.

For FR029 he invited rising techno star Lobster for a fresh collab EP. The Hague-based producer makes big moves representing Vault Sessions and his DJ appearances around the world. Here he joins Juan Sanchez for his Format label debut in the form of the Hybris Crux EP where both producers present their latest take on rolling techno including a rework of each other's tracks. It's a strong representation of what Format is about and how it keeps dancefloors moving with its excellent energetic style of pure techno.

With "Top Tier," Sandro Mure delivers a pulse-pounding journey through the relentless sounds of hardgroove and hard techno, blending driving grooves with a seasoned touch that only comes from two decades in the scene. Known for his gritty, dancefloor-fueled sound, Mure is a Frankfurt-based powerhouse and founder of labels JLR, Hardship Recordings, and Hardgroove Connection. Having worked alongside legends like Pet Duo, O.B.I., and DJ Murphy, his tracks have become synonymous with the high-energy beats and intricate grooves that define modern hard techno. We’re living in a world where being loud gets you noticed, selfishness is the norm and respect is treated like a weakness - and honestly, I’ve never felt at home in that vibe. When I first got into the underground scene, it was all about mindfulness, empathy and lifting each other up. That energy lasted for a while, but over time it got buried under DJs chasing fame and agencies turning the underground into something they could sell as EDM.

When I started working on this track, I wanted to capture what a warm-up feels like today and how to nail that perfect shift from chill vibes to peak energy. Subdued Manners is my way of looking back at what the scene used to be and asking how we can bring that energy back.This is my way of sharing the message and reviving the original spirit, where everyone feels free to be 100% themselves.  

I teamed up with my co-producer in Hamburg to cook up a fresh VIP version of the track. I’m dropping it for free to all DJs because I want this message to spread. Let’s bring the realness back.

The meeting point had been a hot topic of discussion for several months. They had to choose a public location which would not be guarded under the close scrutiny of cameras or watchful eyes. The exchange would take place, money would be swapped for a suitcase and the whole horrible deed would be concluded. At least that was how it should play out upon paper. Nothing ever went to plan in such circumstances, not for people like them in a town like this. 

Jaunt Records are celebrating ten years in business with an assortment of new music coming from all corners. Stojche appears on a new EP for the label drawing for deep dubby pads and crafty drums.
