Nathalie Duchene is the new entry on the Toy Tonics rooster. Upcoming DJ and producer talent from Paris with prominent protégées: Yuksek and Boombass of Cassius are the ones who helped her to get introduced to the French scene and to shape the skills as DJ and producer of her own music. Since she came to Paris from Belgium in 2008 at the age of 19 it were these two encouraging her to make music. And by now, after observing the good artists and developing a real obsession (not only) for club music she became a steady member of the new Parisian house scene. She regularly plays in the main Parisian clubs such as the Rex, Silencio and Sacre. And being known for excellent DJ and selector skills able to create deep and colorful musical atmospheres, she also gets often invited to play happenings of brands like Louis Vuitton, Numero Magazine or the off - parties at Cannes Film Festival. 

In fact by now Nathalie has strong connections not only in the growing new French house scene but also to the French movie world. Since living in Paris she wrote a few pieces of music for movies  (and fashion shows) and it looks like there will be more engagements in the future. Nathalie’s music production skills are impressing.

Now, after DJing for a couple of years, spending endless hours in the studio to learn - Nathalie is ready for her own dancefloor EP.  Three sunny electronic tracks, disco, Balearic house vibes that avoid cliches, instead play with atmospheres and vibes that feel familiar and catch you quickly, without being too direct.

It makes total sense to release these on Toy Tonics. Not just because France is one of the countries with the biggest Toy Tonics fanbase, but also because Cassius and Yuksek have always been „heroes“ to the TT crew. It all makes sense. Nathalie Duchene’s first EP „Praia“ is out on march 11th including remixes by Yuksek, Boombass and Carl Chaste.

Neues Quartal zu gewohnten Konditionen. 2022 war für 24 Stunden fast normal, dann war Roni wieder da und hat sich für weitere Wochen angemeldet. Und so sitzen wir weiter in den vier Wänden unseres Vertrauens, mit müden Augen und offenen Ohren hören wir von draußen das Erwachen der Knospen und Vögel. Wiederholende Deja-Vu's im Nachichtenjungle und Solidaritätsschreie in blau gelb. Wir warten weiter und lauschen zu @lisbird's Sonntagswalküre. Digital und extended, im wildesten Ort der Welt.

1. Welcher Auftritt der letzten Jahre ist dir besonders im Kopf geblieben und warum?
Letzten Sommer! schön warm. Anfang August, das erste Glas Sekt hat schon mittags am Gaumen gekribbelt. Freunde und ich stellen uns vor das riesige Tor mit den zwei sich zugewandten Enten und den riesen Lettern 𝚂𝙸𝚂𝚈𝙿𝙷𝙾𝚂. Knips Knips. Danke! Die Spannung steigt ins unermessliche - ich checke noch mindestens fünf mal, ob ich wirklich meinen Stick und die Kopfhörer bei mir habe und dann geht's rein. Vorbei an den Türstehern "Hallo ich spiele hier heute. Lisbird", am Pizzastand dann rechts. Das Licht fällt schon schön rein in den Wintergarten. Und da ist der Nebelknopf! Zusammen mit der Aufnahme- und der Playtaste drücke ich Start für vier Stunden Fun, Losgelöstheit, experimentierfreude und aufgehobenfühlen und dann schau ich hoch und ihr seid alle da.

2. Du darfst dir eine Person für ein b2b aussuchen, wer ist es?
Na zurzeit würde ich mir ganz klar HOVR mit hinters Mischpult einladen. Nicht nur, weil seine und meine Trackauswahl wie die Faust aufs Auge passen können, In nächster Zeit stehen tatsächlich gemeinsame Gigs an, Darauf wird sich schon gefreut. Also gespannt bleiben!

3. Für welche Revolution würdest du in der ersten Reihe stehen?
Alle sollen wieder nur mit Vinyl auflegen und intakte Plattenspieler und Records für alle!

Our humble envoys and intrepid adventurers extended frequencies into the celestial fabric with our sister moon and the earthly lunar new year of the Water Tiger. The crystalline core of our dance powered spaceship was well stoked as we blast through the cosmos, sharing time and dance across the space through our intergalactic viewing portals.
