Look deeper, look within. Listen openly, listen from within.

There is more to be perceived than what meets the eye. The fact is quite simply that we do not see truly. We live trapped inside our complicated, distracted minds because society has told us that is what we are. Minds which move constantly from one thing to the next, always there, never here. Our eyes and ears may be open but the input from the outside does not reach within as it is clouded by thought. The sounds of the birds, the leaves blowing in the wind, the wind on our faces. 

Some may see this fact and out of aversion to it force their attention, trying to overcome this limitation but this is full of strain & changing what is. The mind is just doing what it does. Our problem fundamentally is that all that we hear or see is that which the mind puts forward. We fail to realise the fact that there is so much more to see, that which lies immediately around us and inside of us. We fail to realise that what we consider to be us is but a miniscule fragment of a vast playing of a cosmic canvas. Life. Existence.

We don't see this and that's fine. It's too much for the individual mind to grasp, yet there is more to the mind than the individual. There lies a chance to see clearly without any effort, strain or intention. 

The solution hides in the problem. If we knew that everything we see or hear or see are like ripples on the surface of a lake. We only see a small part of these ripples and get very caught up in them, so when they become tumultuous waves and we get tossed around by them. Yet, wherever there is a ripple or wave, there lies an undisturbed body of water underneath it, hidden from sight but supporting and connecting all the ripples. This deeper, calmer part of the lake, this Hidden Stillness, lies in our minds and in all things.

In our lifetimes we may have a few moments where we have perceived this deeper plane, unable to grasp it, yet felt its effects of peace, joy & quietness. Like a sunny Sunday afternoon where there's no pressure on us to do anything. For many music can have this power: the power to quieten, the power to help us open up to more of what is around us through the sounds, the power to reveal a glimpse of our nature of non-separation with the world around.

This mix is dedicated to that plane, that Hidden Stillness which lies in and around everything. Just like the movements of the world, the mix goes through many forms of energy & noise all held together by the universal constant... stillness. I want to give a huge shoutout the artists, who through something greater than us, have given us the gift of these sounds.

Listen carefully, listen well. Not to the individual sounds but that which lies beneath, linking them all together.
