Turning point is a sound sculpture created by artist Greta Galiauskaitė in collaboration with Ukrainian sound artists Anastasia Symonovych, Andrii Sichkovskyi, Andrii Symonovych, Andriy Kyrychenko, Daria Veshtak, Iris Forest, Iryna Novikova, Katerina Yan and Kateryna Zauber. The collection features individual sound compositions, taking listeners on a journey through the experiences of those who have been forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing war. By using techniques such as electronics, voice, noise, field recordings from shelters amongst others, the artists have created a diverse and unique collection of sounds that together form a powerful narrative. The sculpture speaks the language of recollection in the form of noise, highlighting the process of individual stories merging into a single, unified memory. It is a reflection on the impact of war on the lives of individuals and communities.
