The legendary Tony Rohr graces Phobiq with his presence and offers two tracks alongside his new partner-in-crime Layton Giordani. 
 The EP starts out with the sparse arrangement of &#8220;Careless Suggestions&#8221;, driven by a locomotive bassline and grinding rhythm section. Moody stabs reinforce the bleak vibe, and the vocals coming at us from otherworldly black holes only add to the mood. Label boss Sasha Carassi steps up for the remix in his trademarked stomping style, making use of hypnotic elements and the busy claps from the original. Industrial-sounding hi-hat action drives his interpretation all the way home, after an apocalyptic breakdown, of course. 
 On &#8220;Reggae Shiz&#8221; things are more stripped-down with bare drums holding everything together, as the rest of the arsenal slowly builds around menacing chords and a rocksteady groove. Behind the spotlight, liquid bass comes together with quirky percussion to complete this almost-10-minute-long opus. Dema maintains a sublime, shadowy mood in his version but opts for busier hats and heavier usage of chords.

It&#8217;s time for Sasha Carassi&#8217;s &#8220;Echoes&#8221; from a few months ago to receive remix treatment, and Skober&#8217;s interpretation is up first and focuses on the melodic elements of the Original but cleverly adds moody synths which add to the overall epicness of the affair, especially in the grandiose breakdown. Layton Giordani is up next with his trademarked shadowy sound and impeccable arrangement, offering yet another angle of attack. Last but not least are Loco &amp; Jam dubbing things out with bursts of references to the original in key moments, while maintaining a rocksteady vibe sprinkled with discordant stabs.

Sasha Carassi&#8217;s summer hit gets the full remix treatment and Chicago Loop is up first with his beefed-up version, sprinkled with the Original&#8217;s chopped-up chords and an epic breakdown. Alberto Ruiz is next with a more dubbed-out approach, letting his airtight rhythm section do all the talking. Frankyeffe takes us on a cavernous ride, complete with the familiar progressions and tasty squelches, which ultimately lead us to Taster Peter&#8217;s pad-led remix that relies heavily on the synths as it stomps away.

Ilija brings synth warfare to the table in these two tracks and &#8220;Delusion&#8221; kicks in with a crisp rhythm section, soaring electronics and a lengthy breakdown that is prone for mayhem. Things continue in the same vein on &#8220;Syndrome&#8221;, yet with a slightly more mystical vibe. Haunting atmospherics and intricate programming pave the road to euphoric arpeggios, as yet another grand breakdown ensures maximum impact.

Ilija Djokovic - Syndrome (Original Mix)

Frankyeffe drops his interpretation of this classic and utilizes familiar chords throughout the length of the affair, while letting the spoken word passage shine in all its glory. Underneath the nostalgia, a rocksteady rhythm section holds everything together and combined with the clever arrangement, brings the anthem up-to-date for maximum impact.

Jacob makes his Phobiq debut and kicks off his EP with the haunting title track which twists and turns with hypnotic spoken sword snippets and grinding hats. Things continue in the same vein in his collaboration with DJOKO, as we are introduced to manic claps, percussion galore and Old School stabs. &#8220;MDxx High&#8221; offers a more subliminal approach at first, courtesy of the rubber-band bassline, but then flips everything around and breaks into an ultra-retro synth lead. &#8220;Tribe&#8221; closes up with a firm nod to the roots of this sound, and before we know it we are witnessing an actual siren burst out of nowhere.
