Nothing Lasts for Good

Born and bred in Southern California, indie artist Phoebe Silva blends classic American songwriting influences with a post-modern aesthetic sensibility. A classically trained violinist from the age of three, she grew up playing in orchestras and bluegrass fiddle competitions, and performing in musical theater. Her roots in classical music and jazz and her love of storytelling imbue her music with a sense of timelessness. She has evoked comparisons to artists including Linda Ronstadt, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Fiona Apple, Ingrid Michaelson, Haley Reinhart, Lily Allen and Gwen Stefani.

After an early stint as an actor on the New York and regional theater circuits, Phoebe transitioned to music in 2013, beginning to play session gigs around the New York City club scene and writing songs for the first time.
She toured Alaska and Canada as part of folk-pop duo Mama Drinks Bourbon before settling in Los Angeles in 2015. 

Over the last five years, Phoebe has established herself as a reputable violinist and singer-songwriter on the LA indie scene, formerly performing as a member of indie Americana rock band The Sound of Ghosts, and with countless other artists around town. She has recorded violin with more than 50 artists, and played every small club stage in LA including the Troubadour, the Peppermint Club, the Satellite, the Hotel Cafe, the Hi Hat, the Whisky a Go Go and more. In 2019 Phoebe released her debut single “The Best Thing!”, a Motown-inspired retro-pop tune. In 2020 Phoebe released 4 more singles, and 3 music videos. 

Her debut EP One Day at a Time releases December 18th. The 4 track EP features lead single “Nothing Lasts for Good”, an indie quarantine-era folk-pop ballad, produced by Taylor Morrow of rising indie pop band New Dialogue.
