A favourite throughout D&B scenes across the globe, the legendary DJ Marky is back on Shogun Audio with his highly awaited track with fellow Brazillian producer Alibi and Bristol-based vocalist Charli Brix, whose recent debut album has solidified her spot as one of the most sought-after voices in drum and bass music. 

Titled ‘Natural Feeling’, the trio serves up a crisp, groove-laden beauty of a song that's beautifully  infectious and feel-good nature will get people smiling and dancefloors moving from Sau Paulo to St Paul’s. Not many tunes work perfectly through both a sound system and a pair of headphones, but DJ Marky, Alibi, and Charli Brix have joined forces to deliver one of those D&B masterpieces in scintillating fashion.

Soulvent Records proudly presents ‘This Time Last Year’, the debut album from one of the scenes most talked about acts; Pola & Bryson. The East London duo have been on top form this year, with releases on Soulvent, Spearhead, Liquicity & Hospital Records. After making it official in early 2015, these two have been non stop in the studio, intuitively paving the way for their first LP, whilst setting a stellar example of how to do it your own way, and do it well.

The album sees the lads link up with some of the finest producers and vocalists in the UK and beyond, including: New Zealand singer Blake, Forest Gate faithful Sammie Bella, North London based singer songwriter Tayah Ettienne, Bristol big cheese Siege MC, popular Dutch born singer MVE, and Leeds artist Loz Contreras. The first single from the project even boasts remixes from Mitekiss, and most notably Bcee & Villems’ new venture ‘The Vanguard Project’.

As the title track portrays, ‘This Time Last Year’ takes listeners through their journey over the last 12 months, building a truly signature sound of drum and bass that entices the ears like no other. The intelligence in Pola & Bryson’s production shines through in tracks like ‘A Good Thing’ and ’Stuck In A Memory’, where they explore a more unconventional, almost futuristic side of the genre. Alongside those, a host of vocal lead tracks on the LP like ‘Open My Eyes’, ‘Run From You’, ’Talk To Me’ and ‘Temporary Love’ make for a nostalgic, beautifully balanced debut work.

Already with support from several artists over at Hospital, Spearhead head honcho BCee, along with backing from Radio 1 regular Friction, this 15 track album will undeniably be on the lips and in the headphones of fans & industry moguls alike for a very long time.

Pola & Bryson - Way Back  ft. Siege

The producer behind the last years huge hit ‘The View” teams up again with the same vocal duo to equally great effect. It’s the lead single taken from his forthcoming debut long player. Over the past 3 years Luke Beavon’s music has gained many admirers in the drum and bass world. His musicality, passion, ear for detail and production ability all shine through on his releases. These two tracks are no exception. Missing you is real heartbreaker; with lyrics written and performed by DRS and Tyler Daley it’s a beautiful soul song for the all the people that have lost someone close. Tumult on the other hand is rough, fierce and devastating and shows the darker side of Luke’s artillery.

With Quarter To Quarter, Amsterdam-based record label The North Quarter delivers its first compilation album: a manifesto and its most ambitious project to date.

The 14 track project features prominent vocalists IAMDDB and Azekel, Bass Music legends Total Science and Break and all the core artists that have made Lenzman’s boutique label the breath of fresh air it is today.

The North Quarter is a collective of artists from around the globe, brought together through a shared love for the authentic. The imprint has become a household name in just a short space of time through ambitious and highly detailed artist projects. With Quarter to Quarter, a compilation of cutting edge Drum & Bass music, the label further solidifies its reputation and unique vision.

Never doing things the fast and easy way, the album was put together and nurtured by A&R and founder Lenzman over the course of 18 months.

Lenzman explains: “Way back when I first got into music, I wanted to share that magic with others. Today that same urge still endures within me. With this album I've tried to bring together a group of artists with whom I have shared values, who have never been brought together in this way, and create a timeless statement of intent."

Nu:Tone is a name that instinctively populates in a seasoned drum & bass brain upon hearing the words Hospital Records. With five solo studio albums to boast, as well as a wealth of singles and EPs, Nu:Tone’s tracks can always be heard across dancefloors and throughout the festival circuit. Since joining the Hospital Records A&R team and setting up his own mixing and mastering business his ‘own music took a bit of a backseat’. It’s been six long years since Nu:Tone’s seminal ‘Future History’ album in 2014 and now Hospital is thrilled to present the creative mastery that is ‘Little Spaces’.


Ever the tastemaker, Nu:Tone has been at the forefront of guiding and bringing through the next generation of artists, particularly focused on collaborating with new and previously unheard vocalists in drum & bass, placing them at the heart of the songwriting process which is beautifully demonstrated on ‘Little Spaces’. Embodying his classic sound and drawing influence from the iconic Korg M1 synth, One Day At A Time features stunning harmonies from Lalin St. Juste, based out of the San Francisco Bay Area where she also heads up the genre-bending six-piece band The Seshen. Nu:Tones’ long-standing collaborative relationship with Lea Lea has been refreshed, with two features on the album on ‘Instincts’ and ‘The Moment’.

‘Jonas’ brings old-school flavours into 2021 with a slick introduction infused with half-time breaks, before cutting to the chase as some of the most meticulously crafted drums and a killer bassline take centre stage.

Hazy arpeggios and twinkling chimes set the scene on ‘Sleepwalker’ which sees two liquid drum & bass legends join forces. Pairing up with Charlotte Haining who delivers her signature anthemic vocal style, skippy breaks and pressing bass lays the foundation for a truly remarkable collaboration of two highly esteemed artists.

‘Instincts (feat. Lea Lea)’ sees soulful synth stabs from the off, a clear nod to Nu:Tone’s love for house music, before Lea Lea injects sinister amounts of groove with her commendable vocal abilities. Expect stripped back dexterity in signature Nu:Tone fashion, this one means business.

A mainstay of Hospital Records since 2003, Nu:Tone’s contribution to both the label and the wider drum & bass has been highly commendable. From his debut album ‘Brave Nu World’ in 2005 to new-wave anthems such as ‘Everlasting Days (feat. Lifford)’ produced alongside his brother and fellow label legend Logistics, and remixes for the likes of Adele, Emeli Sande and Plan B, Nu:Tone’s music has welcomed support from an array of legends like LTJ Bukem, Annie Mac, Andy C, High Contrast, Sigma, Sub Focus, Norman Jay, Marcus Intalex, Bryan Gee, DJ Marky, and Laurent Garnier to name but a few.
