Más de tres mil migrantes centroamericanxs se reúnen hoy en Tijuana después de recorrer 4,500 kilómetros de territorio; 4,500 kilómetros de incertidumbre, violencia, discriminación y desgaste físico. Están a un paso de su destino final: solicitar refugio en Estados Unidos. Pero su largo peregrinaje en busca de las condiciones mínimas de bienestar no va a terminar del otro lado de la frontera, donde necesitarán ayuda material, legal y afectiva para remar contra la corriente del racismo y la intolerancia que hoy caracterizan al gobierno estadounidense.

Hoy, algunas consecuencias de las políticas económicas y militares internacionales de las últimas tres décadas --como la pobreza, los feminicidios, la violencia del narcotráfico, la proliferación de dictaduras, la desigualdad y el cambio climático-- continúan obligando a miles de personas a migrar hacia el norte en busca de asilo. Sin embargo, también hay luz en este panorama oscuro, pues la crisis humanitaria ha despertado empatía y articulado redes de apoyo a lo largo y ancho del continente: colaboraciones transregionales e internacionales que gestionan recursos alimentarios, asilos provisionales y asesoría legal para hacer valer el derecho humano a pedir refugio y vivir una vida en paz.

Entre estas redes de solidaridad se encuentran Abolish ICE, The Central American Healing Collective, Cosecha, Cosmovisiones Ancestrales, Enclave Caracol, Pueblo Sin Fronteras, y organizadores independientes, que juntas forman Caravan Support Network. Esta red ayuda a crear sistemas de apoyo autónomos sin necesidad de ayuda gubernamental. Actualmente la labor se ha concentrado en recibir y distribuir ropa, tiendas de campaña, alimentos, asistencia médica y legal.

Es en este ánimo que desde el medio musical/cultural decidimos iniciar un proyecto de apoyo a las víctimas de esta crisis. 27 artistas de diversos países donaron su trabajo para hacer posible esta compilación. Los fondos recuperados serán donados en su totalidad al Caravan Support Network.

what started as nearly an albums worth of leftovers from fake meat quickly mutated into the pulsing, spitting, fleshy mass that is ungoliant 
 
drawing on many of the same influences, ungoliant doubles down on meaty soundscapes and the playful darkness only found occasionally on the sister album. the attention to detail and dense production is still here, almost to a monstrous degree, but focusing much more on a dark fantasy atmosphere taking musical and visual cues from the elder scrolls, the works of tolkien, and the dark crystal

while fake meat was a sleepover ungoliant is the scary stories u tell to each other to stay awake, and the restless nights that follow. evil but playful, never true danger outside of the mind. a tender malleable fear

the dramatic habitats of ungoliant find solace and truth in the catharsis of darkness, mystery, mist, the grotesque, big emotions 
in the blurred veils between life, death, fear, trauma and fantasy 
in spells and enchantments of nostalgia growing from the deepest strangest parts of ourself

finding clarity thru muck of escapism
and emerald colored memories 
hypnagogic logic & ancient mysteries caked in filth
