Enigmatic Berlin­based producer Algorythm provides the debut release on the new vinyl imprint Neptune Records.

Initiating the package, stuttering percussion and echoing effects form the deep and mesmerising ‘Santos Express’. Syncopated rhythms and thudding bass hits then make up ‘LFO’ as twinkling melodies work their magic, before ‘Bird Cage’ introduces soaring chords and tranquil notes. Tying things together, thudding kicks and snappy snares drive ‘Omar’s Deli’ forward as various layers of serene synths and pads are blended together.

Paris-based band Vox Low drops a new remixes EP on Alvaro Cabana’s Rotten City Records that features this superb hazy version from ‘My Broken Frame’ aka solo project of Guillaume Leglise, also guitarist of the band. They turned this originally sensible cinematic pop song into an extended cold-blooded kraut cover, mostly built around hallucinogenic synth layers, whipping binary drums, kinky grunge guitars and that haunting sonar bleep that will never leave your mind in peace, for our very pleasure. The track was previously released digitally in 2016 , but its so good that finally he got a deserved vinyl release.  
EP also includes remixes of ‘Ready To Spend’ - killer tune from their last album - from Marvin & Guy, Holographic Planes and themselves. Out on april 5th just to remind you that winter is still not far away.

“Earlier this year I had the great pleasure of releasing a debut album from a new artist called Meetsysteem. This is the remix EP of that album. A couple of years before that I found out Ricky (Meetsysteem) co-produced a couple of tracks I released, so I asked him for his own music. (Ricky is the kind of guy that just makes music on his own and will hardly ever talk about it unless you ask him). A year ago he finally sent me a couple of demos. There were a couple of house and minimal tracks and two pop tracks in the package. They were all great, but these two pop tracks really stood out. Turned out he had about 20 more of those weird poetic dutch pop songs. In the next 6 months we worked closely together to compile, edit, mix and master the tracks - to eventually release the album Geen Signaal last June. The album is completely different from anything we’ve released before. It’s been the most intense but also most rewarding record I’ve worked on so far. In contrast to the album, this remix EP was probably the easiest process for a release. All of it came together spontaneously. I’m super happy the originals inspired others to give their twist to it.”

The nouveau Madriline – love brought him to Spain's capital a while back – known for heartfelt and touching musical pieces enhances the Life And Death's culturally rich artist rooster and, after his highly acclaimed 'Pronto Arpeggio EP' on Ransom Note last year, finally delivers an entire EP with new material that crosses (sub)genres as smoothly and easily as planes fly across the pound. El lanzamiento en vinilo limitado fue posible gracias al sello holandés 339 Records y saldrá como un maxi single que incluye solo No FTR Original y Franz Scala's Remix.

Sobre el EP:

No FTR es la abreviatura de No Future: Daniel Monaco quiere representar un viaje a un lugar oscuro, tal vez perdido en el espacio, tal vez condenado a un universo paralelo, las, baterías a veces se mezclan con sonidos metálicos y melodías que sugieren sentimientos de esperanza y desesperación, todo ello secuenciando los bajos de sintetizador que se entrelazan con líneas de bajo interpretadas en vivo, tratando de crear ritmos de rodadura embarrados pero nítidos. Se hizo una exageración intencional en el arreglo para recordar la plenitud en el sonido típico de algunas pistas italianas de la vieja escuela que le gustan a Daniel Monaco.

El EP es un concepto de Dark Italo que contiene 3 originales y 3 remixes de artistas como James Rod el imparable Boss label de Golden Soul Records, la artista coreana Shubostar propietario de Uju Records conocido por su Cosmic Touch y por último el jefe de Slow Motion Franz Scala pionero de la nueva ola italiana, un verdadero creador e Italo Master, aporta su toque mágico para hacer de este lanzamiento un esencial de 2020.
