Break welcomes DLR back to the label for the first time since 'City Slickers' in 2018. Made in just one session last Summer, the Bristol pair don’t come together often, but whenever they do its always special.

Here are two of the best to do it, both at the top of their game, joining forces once again for a pure, stripped back, heavyweight sound. Using analogue equipment to maximise the sub delivery on a big sound system, focus was placed on the fundamentals; drums and bass.

I come from a small town in the countryside of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Where I come from there was no electronic music at all , so when I started DJing, if I wanted to listen to it I had to travel for 3 hours to Sao Paulo but even then I couldn’t get into the clubs as I was only 14 years old.
It feels absolutely SURREAL that I’m now writing this post to tell you my Essential Mix is coming this Saturday on @bbcradio1 at 1AM (Friday night) ! The Essential Mix for me was always a way to learn about new music and find inspirations from the best in electronic music. 
It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, you can achieve anything you want in life, you are the only one who can set limits for yourself. Follow your dreams and do everything with LOVE. 🙏🏼❤️
For my Essential Mix I've chosen tracks from artists who inspired me since I've been playing for these almost 20 years, also some of my own tracks that had a big impact in my career and some unreleased stuff from myself as well! I really hope you enjoy the journey

ESSENTIAL MIX - BBC Radio (12.01.2019)

After discovering drum and bass by listening to iconic mixtapes like "Nightlife" by Andy C in the early 2000s, Phonograph dove headfirst into the captivating world of this music. Quickly, he acquired turntables and vinyl records to learn the art of mixing, aiming to express his passion through his own musical interpretations.

In 2007, the call of adventure led him to leave France and join his older brother DJ Redrum and his friend Mr Tea in Edinburgh, Scotland. On this new turf, he embarked on organizing electronic events under the name "Noizteez," creating memorable sonic experiences for an enthusiastic and devoted audience. Simultaneously, his involvement in the Scottish collective "6tms Anon" led him to organize events in temporary autonomous zones, pushing the creative boundaries of electronic music.

The desire to create his own music took shape in 2014 when Phonograph signed his first single, "Escape From Reality." This initial release paved the way for a series of successful collaborations with renowned labels such as Mindtech Recordings, Transmission Audio, Dnb France, and Hyperactivity Music.

His tracks quickly gained support from pioneering figures in the scene, including DJ Aphrodite, Dillinja, John B, Elisa Do Brasil, Ray Keith, Grooverider, Amoss, and many more..
