AH Moment

Cursed Water

This is music created from people and their interactions.  I recorded a gathering of artists and their small talk before a meeting.  What I was looking for was not the content of their words, but the character of their rhythm and the interplay that I could tease out through the use of electronic manipulation of the source material.   This was recorded last year as part of y Charlotte Street Foundation Artist Residency, and originally cut as a track titled Unbeknownst to You, which had little digital manipulation.  This version is the fruit of much of my work with Mnemosyne Quartet, which I started with 3 colleagues a year ago as an effort to learn how to integrate electronic sounds into my live improvisation.
