I've been both excited and nervous to release this song. About a month or two ago, Geenius wrote an unnamed song and then asked me to edit and master it for him. It ended up not getting released, but I still had the project files and his vocals. A week before this song was put together, I produced a future bass beat and drop (a slower version of the beginning of this song). I remembered that song Geenius worked on and asked him if I could remake it into something else. We've discussed making music together for almost a decade, but I never felt I was good enough to ever "make it happen". He said I could remake it and he was excited to hear it. I then spent the next week endlessly trying to polish the beat, the sound, and making the vocals match with the new song. I probably reuploaded, and rerendered this song about 20 times. It never quite felt right. After the first portion was finished, I felt something was missing again. I had the idea of having another voice come in during the transition. But knowing Gee's computer and recording setup wasn't working, I couldn't ask him to do it. I thought id give it a try to see what it'd sound like. I have never sang publicly before. Although I enjoy music and singing, for the longest time I was too self conscious about my voice to share it. This song I feel like is a big change for me as an artist because it's my first original song, my first time ever singing, and making this was also the longest i'd ever spent on producing a track. After I finished my part, I was reluctant about sharing it because of how much work and time I put in and the fear of it not being good. But after nervously showing Gee the finished project, he encouraged me to release it. So, I really hope you like it. This is "Make It Happen".
