Goodbye 2020

Why: Shaking is an amazing tool for shifting states and moving energy through the body. 

When we look out in Nature, after an animal has gone through a "stressful event," such as escaping a predator,  they shake out the experience from their bodies. Unfortunately in our modern world we experience situations that feel as if they threaten our life, creating an immense amount of stress, but are unable to shake the stress out of our bodies. This stores the stress in our body. This exercise helps release any stress and tension in our bodies and resets our nervous system so we can be present to life. 

It takes effort and attention to keep moving in this way, and we naturally shift our shaking from one part to another - listening to the wisdom of our bodies. 

As we move our attention around and keep putting our focus on moving, the mind naturally lets go of the other thoughts that may be spiraling. In this example, we start with an alignment exercise that brings the attention onto alignment as an initial way to connect with the body. 

If you're feeling heavy, lethargic, or filled with anxiety or stressed, shaking gets us into a place that's "workable."
