These are challenging times in the middle east. As the situation in Gaza gets worse daily, we are committed to doing what we can to end this conflict, and provide aid to the residents of Gaza, as well as all Palestinians in the west bank.

All proceeds from Confused Machines' digital sales will go directly to Physicians For Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) www.phr.org.il, which continues its medical work and humanitarian aid in the West Bank despite the difficult circumstances.

Since October 2023, PHRI has doubled its activity in the West Bank and is sending two weekly mobile clinic visits to help communities that are cut off from medical treatment due to the severe wave of settler and military violence, movement restrictions, and the financial crisis in the West Bank.

PHRI is currently unable to operate in Gaza due to restrictions by the Israeli authorities, and have been barred from delivering aid to the strip. PHRI is constantly working to resume these activities and will do so as soon as the circumstances allow.

We urge for an immediate ceasefire, the return of all hostages, and a peaceful future for all inhabitants of this troubled land.

Neonicle - Kagome EP [Electro Music Coalition // EMC V017]

Juno's review : "We imagine "Neonicle" - judging by the affixes of the name alone - would likely mean something like "new instance of a half-biological, half-mechanical monstrosity, capable of lamellic self-regeneration when mortally wounded". Think of Terminator, grey goo or The Thing. Whatever idea the producer behind this alias had in mind when coming up with the name, you cannot deny that this nominal vagary still conjures up a certain set of (grisly, technological) images when paired with such solemn, fatal electro sounds. Machinic desecrations and vocal litanies abound on A-siders 'Kagome' featuring Julia Marks and 'Dirty Sanchez', both of which portray a tarred, oiled and feathered sound, as of an unstoppable automaton setting about a new reformative mission. Then 'Train' and 'New Culture' go on to utterly usurp and displace the old narrative, with the hip cyber electro of the latter - modifying the laryngeal emissions of vocalist Dyroplane - extending this robotic coup d'etat to lay down a new, sinister futural law."

Autumns is the musical identity of Christian Donaghey, from Derry, Northern Ireland. Since beginning in the Summer of 2013 with a brace of rough demos, the project's first recordings were quickly selected for what became Terrible Tuesday, a mini LP release on Karl O'Connor's illustrious Downwards label (home to regular touring partners The KVB and the likes of Tropic of Cancer, Silent Servant and O'Connor's own Regis project)
Described as "a return to C86  Jesus & Mary Chain meets Joe Meek and Ride head on", Terrible Tuesday both vindicated and transcended this distinction; a singular mutation of revered touchstones dealing in a rough trade of transgressive noise, no fi dysfunction and DIY angst.
Recording throughout 2015 and early 2016, Das Nichts (Nothingness) has seen the project foray into evermore extreme avenues, acknowledging Industrial pioneers like Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, SPK, and Death In June whilst realising an intensity that looks to contemporary techno for unremitting impact. Released on Glasgow's Clan Destine Records (torchbearer for Ela Orleans, Varg and Dirty Beaches amongst others) the cassette represented the first dark fruits of an extended period of recording, both in Donaghey's bedroom and in isolated sessions conducted at Smalltown America Studios.
Alongside preparations for new releases due in the near future the project has developed a notorious live show on the back of support slots for Moon Duo and The KVB, and a recent US tour which saw Donaghey share a bill with Lust For Youth in San Francisco. As well as confrontational appearances with likeminded luminaries, the project has remained as open to experimentation within the context of a live performance as it has during recording sessions, a notion affirmed by Donaghey's recent appearance at the Distorted Perspectives festival, where he provided a desolate live score to a screening of David Lynch's Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Further cementing his reputation for uncompromising spectacle, Donaghey recently collaborated with renowned techno experimentalist Samuel Kerridge for a joint Downwards Records / Julius Society showcase at this year’s Paris Fashion week.
