After working his magic on the Amsterdam underground, young DJ/Producer Job Sifre has finally stepped out of the shadows. He's already built up a cult following worldwide thanks to hosting a fortnightly show on Red Light Radio and getting out two solid releases on Interstellar Funk's Artificial Dance label and a more recent one on our beloved Knekelhuis. We asked Job to record a podcast for us and spoke to him about music, life and universe.

Scientific Dreamz Of U is a physicist working on next-generation nano-magnetic systems. Exploring their potential as candidates for hardware-based neural networks (as opposed to the software ones which we currently have) and as playgrounds for deeper fundamental studies on phenomena such as negative absolute temperatures and magnetic monopole excitations.
He has got an EP coming up on Pinkman with a remix from Mick Wills, should be out early Summer. Aside from that he've been working on some pretty different stuff, much more rhythmically focused than previous releases and closer to some of the later part of this mix. 
He'll be at a new club just opened in Leipzig, 'Mjut' in May and will play the Crave festival in Den Haag in early June. Putting together a new party in London along with DJ 'Hope Stress Dose' at the moment and cropping up on the Loophole soundsystem too.

This mix was recorded last November at a  party called 'MINA' in Lisbon, put on by a wicked crew including Marum, Photonz, Violet, BLEID, Naomi & more. As Tony said, the place had a crowd and energy that you don't see too much anymore. Very special place and dripping in all the right ways.

Out now: “New Atlantis”, the epic, psychedelic title track off of @Efdemin’s upcoming album out February 15, 2019 via Ostgut Ton.

Across 15 minutes, Efdemin’s experimental spirit is in full swing, with morphing drones/chords generated by a mix of Efdemin’s hurdy-gurdy and drum machines, Konrad Sprenger’s MIDI-controlled Stratocaster, Joachim Schütz’s electric guitar and Nika Son’s synthesizer – recorded live during the quartet’s Tony Conrad tribute concert in Hamburg. 

Album-wise, ‘New Atlantis’ oscillates between fast, kaleidoscopic techno, multilayered drones and acoustic instrumentation, fusing for the first time Sollmann’s deep dancefloor productions as Efdemin with his sound art and avant-garde music projects. The latter include 2017’s Harry Partch-inspired ‘Monophonie’ performance and 2018’s ‘Panama / Suez’ EP with Oren Ambarchi and Konrad Sprenger.

Sollmann took inspiration for ‘New Atlantis’ from Francis Bacon’s unfinished 17th century novel of the same name, which describes a fictional island devoted to social progress through the synthesis of art, science, technology and fashion.

In light of the current Covid-19 Pandemic Studio Enisslab headed up by Italian DJ / Producer and Live Act Neel has announced the release of a very special 56 track charity compilation project, fundraising for The Red Cross, who are working extremely hard alongside health services internationally that are feeling the effects of the corona-virus outbreak the most right now.

This special release features over 6 hours of previously unreleased and unheard material, where an all star cast of artists were encouraged to share music that reflects this time we are living in.

Neel, who is one half of live duo Voices From The Lake, and LF58 speaks out on behalf of the initiative, organised in collaboration with improvised live project Circle Of Live, and visual art collective Sbagliato. He explains:

“In this situation we all need to look after each other and this project is a start. I wanted to reach as many people as possible to spread this message, so I started to share the idea personally with lots of artists and the response was amazing.
