It's been 4 years since we started the HD Mix series, featuring and hosting some of our best friends and favourite artists. We knew we had to make #100 a special one, and we couldn't think of anyone better to feature than electro-queen, Alienata!

We've been a massive fan of the @discos_atonicos honcho for years but were particularly blown away after seeing her live in the Hague at The Crave Festival in 2018, effortlessly blending between acid, electro, and techno.

As well as being a regular feature on many festivals and Berlins, infamous HOR bathroom, Alienata's record label has established itself as one of the most reputable imprints in modern-day electro, releasing with artists such as CYRK, w1b0, and The Spy, to name a few.

Massive thanks to all artists who have featured on the series to date, and here's to the next 100 🎉

Музыку Егора можно описать как комбинацию структуры Электро, Техно секвенций и Брэйкбит атмосферы. Благодаря тому, что Егор пишет в основном на аналоговых синтезаторах, развитие композиций получается настолько неоднообразным, насколько это возможно, дополняя грувом Драм энд бэйс музыки.

Главная идея данного лайва это ограничение до одного устройства для получения максимально концентрированного звука из направлений брейкбита и электро. Для достижения этой цели задействованы, как субтрактивный синтез данного устройства (Analog Rytm), так и сэмплерная часть. Все используемые сэмплы записаны Егором, со следующих синтезаторов: Moog DFAM, Roland SH-32, Dreadbox NYX v2, Elektron Digitone, Eowave Domino.

"Wessel Janssen, better known as The Spy, is a Dutch electronic music artist who has carved a distinctive niche in the underground music scene. Based in Amsterdam, Janssen’s journey into music began in his youth when it provided solace during challenging times. However, it wasn’t until 2015 that he began to explore music seriously, purchasing his first Roland MC-303 synthesizer and venturing into the world of functional techno. Janssen’s early works were marked by a deep appreciation for how music could unite people and offer an escape from life’s struggles. This connection to music has driven him to continually evolve his sound, and in recent years, he has adopted the moniker “The Spy”. Under this name, he has shifted towards a more experimental and evocative style, blending boot-stomping techno with cybernetic grooves, jittery IDM, and sinister electro. His music is the perfect soundtrack for dark, pounding basements where time seems to stand still, drawing listeners into a world of ominous electronics.

This mix was recorded live at THE DATA MINE inside the legendary Tunnel Club in Birmingham on the 3.10.24 .

Broken Joe is the creator and brains behind the Data Mine in Birmingham who's events have been a pillar in the cities nightlife scene with their nights, showcasing the best names in Electro, aswell as running a prominent stage at shambala festival every year.

Before tunnelling down to the subsonic realm that is the Data Mine, Joe ran Broken Minds for over 25 Years, a legendary DnB night in Birmingham.
He was Head of sound and production for The Que Club, Medicine Bar, Custard Factory and more recently The Rainbow Venues.
He now owns the Operation14 Sound Hire company.. Curating and delivering events. 

Joe was inspired by The infamous Oscillate Sound System, ran by Higher Intelligence Agency in the early 1990s. This motivated him to move into DJing, which then in turn lead him onto taking an avid interest in Sound Systems and events. 
He has created his own take on what he saw at these early acid tinged parties, and has now become a resident for them during their recent return to events, which has been an incredible full circle moment for the producer.

He's released on well respected labels such as Science Cult, Pyramid Transmissions and Borg recordings... with more TBA soon.

On November 2, as El Día de Muertos comes to a close, the altars of the Temple of Joy will glow with intricate patterns of festive lights. This night, we celebrate JOY’s ninth birthday—an innocent euphoria of dysfunction bathed in a blaze of hazy light.

A shabby ice cream truck, serving up the flavor of crunchy dog hair, delivers our main guest: Ren Schofield, aka Container, the elegant master of rhythmic bombardment and nauseating noise. Whether he’s the perfect raver for punks or the ideal punk for ravers, fueled by guerrilla crackling and soaked in primitive analog techno, Container returns to Sameheads after 10 years to present his new album, Yacker.

In a halo of dissonant rhythms and disembodied sighs, Ugetsu Monogatari and Costa will lead low-frequency ceremonies of deprivation, while the herald of the black rainbow, Səriim, will solemnly conduct a burial ritual in psychoactive quicksand.
