There seems to be something in the water when it comes to Texas and Electronics. One of the stand-out talents from that most Southern of Southern states is Submersible Machines. The producer surfaced in 2010 with an outstanding selftitled EP, coming up for a second in 2013, on Dublin's Lunar Disko Records. Tracked down, he's being proudly presented on Photic Fields with Waypoints.

Waypoints builds on those early successes, with that delicateness of touch plain to hear. A renewed warmth enters. Tracks wash with a lush and textured sound. Sheer class spills from speakers. “Porthole” illustrates from the needle-drop what you are in for. A tapestry of tones reveals incredibly emotive electronics. Tracks are sculpted with an awe-inspiring precision, from the wind-swept wonder of “Murmur” to 303 echoed dreamscape of “Searching.” And it is a dreaminess that embodies this EP. Heartening notes and a deftness of style combine to bring beautiful and thought-provoking Techno to listeners. Absorbing bars pull you in, changes flow and ebb. But there are punchier moments, the toms and rhythmic pulses of “Abyssal Plains” giving way to sweeping stings. The finale comes with “707 Dreams.” A cerebral close of cascading keys and cushioned cymbals to wake you from absolute immersion. Quality precedes quality on Waypoints. Heady harmonies curl and unfurl themselves around autumnal shades. Limited to 300 copies, 180 gr vinyl.

Favouring the ravey side of techno, broken rhythms, low-swung electro and breakbeat, London-based Sybil turns in the the latest contribution to our mix series. 

Sybil is a founding member of the collective SIREN, a collection of DJs, artists with aims to “challenge and re-define current preconceptions within dance music.” Cutting her teeth on pivotal parties in the capital and beyond, Sybil drives to play hard and fast injected with an evident shot of fun. 

Easing us into the mix with explorative percussive tracks before rolling into moodier and heavier spacey electro and techno, buckle in for an hour-long sonic trip.

Samuel van Dijk aka Mohlao aka Multicast Dynamics aka VC-118A delivers a hauntingly good mix. Patient and prepared, slow and steady, this mix draws the listener in with masterful ease. VC-118A ducks and dives into the dark shadows of electro and the murky swamps of breakbeat. Nothing is rushed, the mix maintains an eery groove and a blend of proto-roboto gear and a chilling quiet. When we asked @marco_shuttle if he wanted to podcast an excerpt of his all night set from Public Records in February, he responded that he really wanted to publish the whole set start to finish. so here you have it, nearly 6 hours of Marco playing to the very intimate dancefloor at The Bunker Limited at Public Records in Brooklyn. This set is quite a bit different than what you might normally hear him play at a big techno club or festival, and we're thrilled to present this side of Marco's sound.
