returns with its Lost Tapes series. A 10 track album from cutting edge artists deserving your attention.
Zombies in Miami, known from their releases on Running Back & Permanent Vacation kick off this release with their debut track on AEON, which had its beginning on some improvisation during a live show. The work on it continued in studio and out came „Running Again“. A song which is guided by a heavy 303 bassline, a driving arpeggiator, a dark synth melody and pregnant cowbells.
Rigopolar is no stranger to the camp. His last release on AEON was quite a success, also being found in essential playlists such as Dixon’s Track ID on Spotify. The arrangements of his songs are quite a-typical for this Italo influenced sound and therefore makes it so special. „Into The Sun“ as well is constantly evolving with small changes, grooving and driving towards its highlights. A tune to easily get lost in it.
Upcoming Lithuanian born producer and DJ Zakmina, who’s tracks already have been released on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant or Future Boogie continues the journey on this album with a dreamy electro/ breakbeat influenced piece. Adding some „Kraftwerk“ sounding computer voice, „Activation“ becomes a worth debut on AEON for the 25 year old.
We are also happy to welcome Vhyce, another young gun, who already made some noise with releases on Pets Recordings and Future Disco. The characteristics of his sounds are very clear and recognizable... Still he manages that his way of ‚simple‘ also turns out ‚effective‘. „Back To Where I Never Was“ can also be seen as the introduction to a massive EP following up later this year.
Russian Zakir describes himself as a producer with „meticulous attitude to forming“ of his music, reminding „of narration of a fairy tale“. „Courier 21“ tells us a story leading us through breaks, a classic 303 bassline, topped with melodies in arabic scale.
The Mexican line up on the 4th part of this Lost Tapes completes Guadalajara based My Boy Roy, who already delivered a massive remix for Alex Niggemann’s „Rise of the Machines“ back in 2020. „Chimerical“ stands out with its classic synth/new wave drums and a dark vibe bass riff, opening up with ‚sunshine like‘ melancholic break, before dropping back into its beats.
Another intro via Lost Tapes makes Rees, owner of the eclectic ‚Paradiso’ label with his uptempo tune „Dominate The Matrix“. His upcoming EP on AEON is long awaited and will include a remix from no one less than ‚Curses’.
Italian- Venezuelan Ricardo Baez, founder „Tropical Animals“ an event series in Florence, is up next with his tune „Ricordo Micidiale“ which is Italian for a very hard and strong memory, which at the same time could be a fatal or lethal memory. "This track resumes both things“, he says. Stomping 909 toms, driving bassline and choir/vocal like atmospheres might relate to the the constant battle of thoughts within minds of artists and genius minds.
Rotterdam based Machinegewehr has already made himself a name with releases on Correspondant and Amsterdam's Bordello A Parigi. With „The Maze“ the passionate drummer delivers a dreamy Nu-Italo gem with outstanding vocoder sounds and sets the bar high for his upcoming EP on AEON.
Lost Tapes Vol. 4 ends with „Mind Slave“. A track produced by Silicodisco, that finds its inspirations though the genres of Indie Dance, Future Disco and touches of post New Wave. A laid back, melodic heavy tune that perfectly rounds up an album, the AEON family is proud to present to you.

Hungarian label Secret Fusion serve up a sizzling package that features some of the scenes most vital artists with Marvin & Guy, Jenia Tarsol and bosses Secret Factory all remixing a SouveQ original. SouveQ is a long standing DJ and producer who has a string of successful collaborative projects under his belt and since this year has also been managing this label. He started his latest moniker as a live and production project in 2017 focusing on a synth laden, 80s influenced sound that draws on Nu wave, disco and techno. His fantastic lead single here is a slow but superbly heavy affair with percolating disco synths, gritty claps and searching pads that bring a futuristic feel. It is an arresting track that works on body and soul in equally excellent fashion. Marvin & Guy are Italian edit masters who are orchestrators of countless transcendent moments on labels like Life & Death and Permanent Vacation. Here they take the track to heavenly melodic territory with lush cosmic chords and a patient groove that sweeps you off your feet. Jenia Tarsol began an Ibiza residency alongside Guy Gerber‘s RUMORS that led to him featuring at Circoloco as well as other key European clubs, always laying down flawlessly executed sets. Now he raises his profile again with an edit that is full of tension, rubber bass and astral arps that get hands in the air. Last of all, label heads Secret Factory draw on all their years of know how to offer up their own sizzling and unique Cosmic remix. Augsburg wonder boy David Kochs delivers a new hypnotic disco-esque approach for Mufti's track As If, which keeps up the success story of Hungarian label Secret Fusion. Once again the aspiring Augsburg artist underlines his ability of arranging a seductive piece of music which combines synthy music with a disco dance floor note. Provided with a lush bass line David Kochs sets the foundation of a smashing take that sways between several (musical) influences and preferences without sounding arbitrary but rather eclectic as circling and wobbling synths flatter the disco hook and almost Acid-sounding chords until climaxing in a profound break before returning to the previously introduced loop and keeping up an immense groove throughout the track.

Mufti's Another Day EP will be released on Secret Fusion on June 1st, 2020.

For our second release of the year, we welcome Hamburg pairing, Cosmo & Kramer. Appearing on the first edition of our ‘Solid(e) State’ various artists series last year, they provided us with the impressive and wholesome arpeggio roller ‘Last Government’.
A track that stayed firmly in our hearts and minds ever since, we just had to bring the guys back for a solo EP, full of Cosmo & Kramer goodness. Taking shape on Solide014, Cosmo & Kramer land with their ‘Bingo Fun’ EP, comprising three tracks laced with exuberant nu-disco energy.
The shimmering, bongo-led title track ‘Bingo Fun’ ignites with a sure glow of high-tempo, dancefloor spirit; a delectable feast of punchy kicks and crisp snares. Digging deep on ‚Really?’, Cosmo & Kramer’s emotive synth work takes hold, soaring with cinematic effect, before closing out with ‘Bonus Romance’. A bubbling end to the story, ‘Bonus Romance’ sees the spell of C&K cast via glistening melody and the harmonising of lush percussive elements.

Ferrari - Jungle Boogie EP

Earlier this year we were happy to release Ferrari’s first ever track on AEON; a crafty remix of Alex Niggemann’s ‘Rise of the Machines’. Towards the end of November, the Italian producer’s ‘Jungle Boogie’ EP will brighten up the darker months of the year. Ferrari wrote the record during Italy’s strict lockdown evenings and first days of easing the restrictive measures, which created a sound of both frenzy and relieve.
The record’s title track creates expectations, which it meets, but not in the exact way you expected it. ‘Jungle Boogie’ starts with native percussion rhythms, but swiftly evolves into a fever dream with altered bird sounds that create an extraterrestrial impression. While female vocals are trying to get to you, you get lost more and more in the acid jungle Ferrari created. While the animals celebrate the temporary absence of mankind.
‘Trancektor’ immediately spirals down towards even deeper parts of your unconscious. This time, however, the world you find yourself in feels more like an 80s arcade game. Circling, Italo disco- inspired synths swirl around you as the spatial sounding beat runs on.
The third track on the EP, ‘Tellurico’, is an uplifting tune with forceful keys that push you forward. The choir hypnotises this song’s listeners all the way to the end.
The closing track of the ‘Jungle Boogie’ EP brings you into calmer waters, allowing you to recover a bit from your little journey. However, ‘Freakin’’ intensifies as it goes forward elevating you one last time.
AEON invited Whitesquare - well known from his releases on Dj Tennis infamous „Life & Death“ - to rework ‘Jungle Boogie’s title track. He silenced the birds, but the trippiness of the track stays, while some new tropical animals enter the stage.
This storytelling EP of five tracks shows some excellent curatorship of the Berlin-based label.
