AK RENNY is a bass house producer, DJ, and rapper from Jacksonville, Florida. She’s making waves in the house scene by incorporating rap vocals into house in her own unique way. The name stands for “Always Knew Renny” rooting from a Kid Cudi quote, “always know who you are to progress in life.” Her vision is to fuse together rap and house in a way that’s never been done before. Starting her production journey in 2019, AK RENNY has since released on labels such as NightEnjin and GRL GANG. She has gained support from artists like Dr.Fresch and Corrupt (UK), and has been featured on labels such as Nightbass, Housecalls, and Solotoko. There will Always be bigger and better things to come for AK RENNY!!

WHENUKNOW FALL '23 MIX

For new artists, it can take years of experimentation and discovery to land on a "sound." This wasn't the case for Nomad Navi. His sonic identity is dark and dystopian, with hints of nostalgia reminiscent of dance music of earlier decades, complemented by his signature dark aesthetic and rounded sunglasses. Drawing inspiration from the music he grew up listening to, Nomad Navi seeks to create a narrative through his music that captures a "dystopian reality."

On November 3, Nomad Navi will release his third single for the year, "Blood Moon." This follows previously released tracks "FALSE IDOL" and "Red Flag" as he continues to weave his story. The track opens with a slightly haunting synth melody that transports listeners back in time. Calivania's vocals take over as a rolling bassline and synth chords build and then drop out to highlight a spoken word breakdown. "Blood Moon" is exactly how Nomad Navi envisioned: a perfect track for a late-night drive in an '80s action movie while still retaining the dark undertones consistent throughout his music.

To celebrate the release of "Blood Moon," Nomad Navi stopped by to tell us more about his artistic journey and to gift us a mix. Despite Halloween having just passed, this mix is chock full of spooky and hard-hitting sounds. It starts intensely, grabbing hold of listeners and not letting go for its runtime. Welcome to my 55th mix of this series. As many of you know my musical taste doesn't just revolve around Hardcore/HardDance and Drum N Bass/Breakbeats. Occasionally I like to mix different genres and this one is going to be dedicated to House Music with a touch of Techno towards the end. However my taste is a little quirky and not in the traditional sense. I hope you enjoy the tracks and the atmosphere I was trying to create.
